It is technically illegal, because the app is uploading all data from the phone book of a smartphone (names, phone numbers, email addresses, birthday dates, post addresses, etc.), but Meta argued that the data isn’t saved directly, all get an unique identifier, which is necessary so the app can work. But collecting data from people (who don’t even use WhatsApp) and didn’t agree to it, is illegal in the EU and only replacing a unique number with another unique number doesn’t make a person anonymous. It’s still an identifier.
That’s why I wrote technically, because WhatsApp is still around and Meta might have found a loophole, otherwise a lot of countries couldn’t use WhatsApp and I think Meta had to invest a lot of money to create or find this loophole.
That’s true and it’s worrying!
for the shopping list I have a similar hot key and after saving the list, it will be automatically send to my android (over local network, not over the internet, sharing it with dozens of companies) and I can open it with SimpleTask having it sorted by the shelves how they appear in the supermarket to not run like a psychopath back and forth.
I understand what they say, but in some cases I just don’t agree with them. They only show the newest gadgets and scream into the camera…
Technically WhatsApp is illegal in the EU.
I should visit Norway, sounds like there are cool people there.
Maybe watch a video about simple math. It can help you so that your brain will not completely disintegrate.
With so much note taking apps nowadays, I can’t understand why someone should waste time to find their smartphone, power it on, input the pin for the sim, unlock the screen, find the right app in the app jungle, open it, find the “new note” option, which is hidden in a sub menu instead of using a short cut on your keyboard to bring up a terminal, which opens Vim and automatically saves the file as a note with the correct file name.
I never understood why their channel have been so popular? Every video felt like a scammer who want to sell me stolen stuff.
Can someone explain the popularity of them?
Okay, after reading those posts we know that this person must be cognitive limited or something. WTF, man! And you’re not even ashamed to post something like this on the internet. Why are people so passionate about it to prove their stupidity on the internet?
But okay, you need simple math to be able to use cash properly and there is no evidence that you have the skills for this.
While the last pandemic investigation showed that those machines where you put in your pin in supermarkets had more bacteria/viruses than cash. Much more people using those terminals more frequently than any same coin or same bill.
Digital money is stolen more often and in higher amounts. People who are glorifying credit cards do it until they got scammed or hacked and loose all their savings or even their identity. They go from “credit card fuck yeah” to “why have I been so stupid?” within a minute.
And why would you even carry a large amount of money with you? People who use cash, use common sense in general.
Thanks a lot.
I will only link to a fediverse post in the end of a blog article like “Here is the official comment section”, because I want to keep my blog as static as possible.
Looks really nice!
Can you show me the link, I am curious on how this look like?
Because Pleroma is pretty similar to Mastodon, I don’t think it will be good, because both use a time line and important stuff could go to the void if it was posted to the wrong time or it just goes down between a lot of content.
I switched from Wordpress to a static website generator (Pelican), because it was bloaty and something broke like after every update.
The first time I’ve seen kbin, it looked like the old unstructured and cluttered version of reddit and the old version only was a unusable mess or only if you like being distracted by all the stuff, which is going on around the content you’re there for.
Always those pathetic people overwhelmed by their own lives…
