You neglected to include what should be done with the terrorist group that started the conflict by invading and killing a thousand Israeli citizens. It’s like you’ve read one side of the conflicts view point and ignored the rest. So you know how many times two state solutions have been negotiated and why they fell through? It’s really difficult to compromise when some people don’t think Israel should even exist. I don’t expect you to solve it, it’s impossible. You really can’t. If I ask one of my Indian co-workers what part of India they are from, I’m not trying to figure out where they land in the caste system. Indian-Americans know this, and because of them now I know why someone would avoid volunteering that information. There’s no one size fits all reaction here. Maybe they are super well informed racists that know specific regional race/classism, but I think more often than not, westerners are asking it just like they’d ask favorite sports, foods, leisure activities and so on.

Stores near me require you to weigh and print a label in the produce section. You scan the label at the register like anything else.

In the produce section you either type in the four digit number or select from a list.

Depends on the store. Some of them are terrible. Tiny areas to checkout an entire grocery car sucks. Especially when it weighs as you go, then hits the weight limit and apparently just starts ignoring the requirement.
