Generally, I tend to focus on smaller creators, their qualities are usually better.
The channels I watched include Nitro Rad (gaming), MattKC (tech), and Modern Vintage Gamer (retro console/gaming).

Honestly, because of my interest, as you can tell from my instance’s name and purpose. It’s the first furry instance I see and also the most popular one, that’s the initial reason.
Some browser supports blocking videos from autoplaying, Firefox is one of them but maybe chrome has similar options too. Check the browser settings.
Nothing major, but I have a few small moments where I feel euphoric, even if I’m usually shroud in dysphoria. It’s like a ray of hope in a dark cave. At least it helped me think twice whenever I wanted to just fully repress.
I have quite a few recommendations. They are not quite non-freemium since they are free, but if your reason to prefer non-freemium is to avoid ads and in app purchases, then none of these games have them. They are all also open source and the link I provided below will be for their respective F-Droid version (note: some of these games are not available on Google Play Store):
This particular game requires far more attention and strategy than the ones listed above, but it can be played once every few minutes if you constantly save and reload (just don’t play online):
Basically phone speakers at home, earbuds while away. As basic as you can get.
Ori and the blind forest, a hat in time, deltarune. It’s amazing how good videogame soundtrack can get!
If your culture is transphobic, you are allowed to just ignore or reject the bigoted parts (or any other parts you have no interest in) and be the woman you want to be (and are).
I know, but… idk… it still feels wrong. I’ve been taught for a very long time that trans people have no place in my culture, and that it is my duty to uphold my masculinity. I know I’m wrong, but it’s really hard to deprogram yourself after years of being taught.
I guess more exposure to trans culture will help, but it’s hard when even interacting with the trans community feels wrong. Maybe you know a way to make it easier?
But, I’ll be honest, my biggest problem right now is just how much I’ve tried to seek out transphobic content lately, it’s almost like a form of self harm. It’s even worse when I internalized and accepted the transphobic things I’ve found.
Of course, it’s harmful, and I’ve tried my best to stop myself from looking at transphobic content. But, in a way, I keep coming back for no reason.
I just wanted a way to stop myself from thinking and accepting transphobic stuff within. Maybe you know a way to help me stop looking at transphobic content as a form of self harm?
Unless it’s 2020, then saying “It doesn’t smell like anything here” is concerning…
Pretty much every instance have defederated from at least one other instance, especially towards instances that hosts illegal images, ones with lackluster moderations, instances that support views they consider dangerous, ones filled with spam bots, and yes, sometimes out of drama or politics.
It’s more of a question of which instances they defederated from and why.
Yeah, it’s quite bad. Honestly, that’s something I knew when I made this joke. I thought it’d be funny if the industry collapse, especially from something like this challenge…
But, I’ve also heard attempts at making alternatives that is more ethical and doesn’t involve civets, so I do hope those could catch on…
When you’re a swashbuckling pirates in the lawless seven seas, you gotta come up with clever ways to enforce your ship’s code of conduct.
I assume we’re talking about spam bots, not bots whose entire purpose is to reupload content from elsewhere into here (i.e. reddit reposter bot).
Most likely, spam. Spam and scam has been quite a problem on Mastodon, so I wouldn’t be surprised if bad actors want to bring them here.
With the vast majority of Lemmy users being refuges from Reddit, it’s easy to see why “Reddit ded” circlejerk is strong. It’s the most relatable thing to everyone here, as nearly everyone here can relate. Not to mention it’s the only thing that unites us as it is the only thing we have in common, regardless of which community you used to belong to on Reddit.
But, I do see those posts less and less. As time went by, I’m sure people will move on from the circlejerk (probably to another circlejerk, but at least they do move on).
When it comes to the lack of content, that’s due to the lower number of users. It’s hard to say if whether it’ll get better as it depends on which kinds of content you are looking for.
But if you want more content, try sorting by new. Reddit death content will usually get more upvotes as it relates to more people than any other content, but the “new” sorting should eliminate this bias.
Depends on the apps I use. Obviously gaming has to be full screen, and since my laptop screen is small, I usually maximize windows when using certain apps that require large space such as Libreoffice, Firefox, Inkscape, etc.
For a few other apps, such as text editors, I usually divide the screen into two. Typically I have file explorer or music player on one side and text editors on the other.
Usually the entire soundtrack of the Ori series: Ori and the Blind Forest & Ori and the Will of the Wisps. In particular, my favorites to calm down is “Separated by the Storm” and “Ori, Embracing the Light”
Someone, if I’m not mistaken, have made something to help convert any reddit client to a lemmy client. I don’t remember though…
I don’t know, ask u/spez who seems adamant to keep the sub open
Fortunately, most android file explorer, including most oem ones, have features to search for recent files.
…let’s just hope the feature actually work, or that the file isn’t in a folder with .nomedia
That kink ain’t a bug, it’s a feature
