I watched a few gameplay videos, but nothing educational. I was just looking for a demo to see what it played like and figured the game would guide me the rest of the way. I’m being completely honest, I never figured out how to play with anyone else. I went to the main room, picked my mission, shot down by myself and died repeatedly. I never thought to try the quick play option. I promise I’m not trolling or trying to yuck anyone else’s yum, I just don’t think I’m made for the game or the game is made for me.

I definitely appreciate the info you gave me. If I ever do decide to give it another shot, I’ll keep that information in mind, but I don’t think that’ll be happening anytime soon. I’ve got plenty of other games in my library to keep me busy without this weird learning curve

I’m bummed I missed my window to return it through steam. I downloaded it, gave it a couple tries and just couldn’t figure out what I was supposed to be doing or when the fun was supposed to start. I couldn’t figure out how to play with other people or what guns I was supposed to use against whatever enemy. None of it made sense and seemed like it was all just hype with no substance. It’s still in my library, but I don’t think it’ll ever get a reinstall. I wish I could just gift it to someone else

Short answers work best. "oh hey do you have any plans this weekend? “Yes.” Conversation over. Someone asks you how you are, your answer is “fine, thank you” and you move along. You’re polite and you’ve satisfied all they’ve given you. It won’t work all the time, there are some people who are more interested in talking at you instead of with you. For those, I recommend starting the conversation with an exit. “Oh hey, I’d love to chat, but I only have a couple minutes.” You can now walk away pretty much whenever and it’s not like you didn’t tell them, it was the first thing you said.

In highschool, back in 2007, I got my first taste of Linux in my highschool electronics class. The class was mostly focused on electrical engineering, however we had a computer in the room for research and for whatever reason, my teacher was a hardcore Linux guy. We talked about it for hours and eventually, I ordered a CD from Ubuntu by mail and installed it on my home PC, a computer that originally ran Windows ME. I’ve primarily used Windows since I do a fair bit of gaming, but I’ve always maintained a linux partition of some kind. On my laptop, I’m currently testing out the latest Ubuntu release, but before that, I was running Linux Mint DE in the Mate flavor with BSPWM as the window manager. On my main PC, I have a Windows 10 partition, and a Garuda Linux partition. Garuda is running Mate with BSPWM as well. The funny thing is, I’m not really a tech guy. I just like it and use it mostly just as a consumer. I can work my way around and fix most things when they break, but I’m more likely to just nuke my installation and spin up a new one when things get really bad. I’m planning a full PC upgrade soon and plan to go AMD instead of Nvidia so I can enjoy Wayland. The latest Gnome release feels really good and matches my rose tinted memories of Unity from way back when. Hoping to run that, but may still mess with a tiling window manager set up as well.

I get your point, AI is useful for some people, but what about the rest of us who don’t want it or use it? I genuinely use the menu key and would prefer to keep it functioning as it does and now I’m going to be forced to lose that key and now I have to deal with AI? It has no use for me. I also don’t want something actively watching and “thinking” about what I’m doing. I want my computer somewhat dumb and to only do what I tell it to. If you want a keyboard with a dedicated AI button, get one with a macro pad or something. Don’t inconvenience the rest of us by forcing a nonsensical change

He’s the main idea behind why graphs work the way they do. Up and to the right is good, where as down and the left is bad. The direction right became synonymous with godliness and the left direction was for evil, just like up and down. In a weird way, math is hella religious

I feel like that doesn’t get discussed enough. The supplements provided under trump hindered way more than they helped. Might I remind you that those were promised and then delayed because Trump wanted his fucking name printed on the checks. Outside of that, the paycheck protection program was a disaster! So many companies took advantage of that while shitting all over the employees that that was supposed to help. All the while, mom and pop shops and other local places got shafted because the mega corporations tapped the fund. Then it all got forgiven?? You’ve got what is essentially neutered unemployment benefits performed solely to act as a clout grab, and you’ve got hyper inflation into the absolute wrong end of the scale of where it should go. More people focus on the former instead of the latter like the latter never happened.

I wholeheartedly agree with you, but in today’s world, that doesn’t matter to most people. I work in banking and the amount of people who willingly give their whole ass banking information to third parties is insane to me. I’m not talking like just their debit card number or their account and routing numbers, like legitimately their online banking sign in info, and they don’t see any potential risk at all

I don’t think thief is the right word. Would you consider someone who stands by a busker listening to their whatever and not throwing a coin in the hat, a thief as well? I get your point, I just think you went about it the wrong way. Who has the better claim to entitlement, the person who already got paid for the sponsorship based on their existing performance metrics, or me and my time? Are you a thief for taking a piss during a commercial break? Are you a thief for arriving late to movies to intentionally skip the previews? Where’s the line here? I’m also not sure of where my hypocrisy comes in either. I have no fantasies about other people wanting to hear what I have to say, especially if it’s going to cost them time or money. Exactly!! I’ve been on the Internet for a long time. I remember the pre-youtube days. Way back when the Internet wasn’t exactly profitable. That meant that the content you found was genuinely made just to share something. I remember the early days of YouTube where people were just making cool shit. A good example, and I understand people have opinions that differ, would be RoosterTeeth. Started as just friends making funny shit, and they did separate shit for money to support making the fun stuff. Now, they’re a very different company owned by a mega corporation. They exist to produce favorable content and farm views. With the way that shit goes viral nowadays, there isn’t really a chance for small communities to exist before whatever space it is eventually explodes. I’m not saying small communities don’t exist, but there’s a big difference between what was and what’s become. Everything’s so much more commercial and purely for the intent of clout or money. People are actively trying to meet KPIs to satisfy arbitrary algorithms. Just go back to making entertaining captivating content.
