- Elon Musk must attend an emergency court hearing in Philadelphia on Thursday to address a bid by the city’s top prosecutor to stop the Tesla CEO and his political action committee from continuing to award $1 million prizes to registered voters in the swing state of Pennsylvania.
- Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner revealed his lawsuit against Musk and the America PAC “triggered an avalanche of [social media] posts from Musk’s followers,” many of whom “made antisemitic attacks on Krasner.”
- Krasner’s lawsuit accuses Musk and the PAC of operating an illegal lottery and trying to influence voters in the presidential election between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
Too late, damage is done, if Trump wins he’s guaranteed a federal pardon.
This is why they always win, because he wasn’t put in jail after the first 9000 felonies.
You can’t pardon a State Crime
… Until the Supreme Court invents a crazy new precedent that goes against the Constitution.
This is a state crime.
This is not a prosecution, this is a lawsuit for an order to desist, basically a temporary restraining order.
The potential crime would be against federal election laws, which could be either civil or criminal federal prosecutions.
Very interesting. More complicated than I realized. Thanks for the correction.
To be fair, he’s also breaking Pennsylvanian lottery laws which he could be prosecuted for on a state level.
