minus-squareSteeve@lemmy.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up37arrow-down19·1 year agoCS:GO is over a decade old and certainly isn’t “killed”, does the author just not want new games to be released ever? I feel like everything posted nowadays is ragebait.
minus-squareStuka@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up55arrow-down6·1 year agoI mean CSGO turned into CS2 in my steam library. So CSGO effectively doesn’t exist anymore. I say ‘killed’ is accurate
minus-squareverysoft@kbin.sociallinkfedilinkarrow-up1arrow-down2·1 year agoYeah, so dumb from them, CS2 was not ready at all.
minus-squarePoppyJalopy@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up9arrow-down17·1 year agoYou can still open csgo by selecting it from the beta tab on CS2. Can still join community servers on there through to the end of the year iirc Doubt valve will have ironed out this forced open beta by then though
minus-squareLojcs@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·1 year agoThey won’t shut down the game at the end of the year. They just said they won’t be maintaining it / ensuring compatibility
minus-squareSteeve@lemmy.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up12arrow-down22·edit-21 year agoIt was a free update/upgrade for CS:GO. That’s like saying v2.0 killed v1.9. Also, major upgrades for free ten years after release is frankly unheard of. This isn’t a “trend”
minus-squaremindbleach@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up8arrow-down2·1 year ago does the author just not want new games to be released ever? It is impossible to give this an appropriate answer in any forum that demands “civility” over honesty. The censored version is: no. And you fucking know better.
minus-square1984@lemmy.todaylinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5arrow-down2·edit-21 year agoThey just killed it and replaced it with cs2, so bad example. Cs:go is gone and can’t be played anymore since you can’t launch it. There really should have been a massive outcry about deleting a game people paid for.
minus-squarevivadanang@lemm.eelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·1 year agoYou can play cs:go (apparently) by rolling back CS2 to previous betas… such a stupid ‘solution’. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3jomwTCh6Y&ab_channel=TroubleChute

Laughs in 1.6…
