Are there any social media sites / forums / “reddit-likes” (EXCEPT 4chan and reddit) which dosent have ANY censorship and little to no moderation , please dont say “uhh lemmy” because there are many cases recently where people have banned or their post removed or supressed . Or is the “dark web” the only option left for the people striving for free speech ?
edit - by free speech I mean everything except CP , extreme racism , illegal pornography and anything related to drugs. Also I see a free speech platform as a place where anyone with any view (except the above) can openly share their idea instead of fearing about moderation or one sided politics
edit 2 - ok folks I am going to delete this post after 12 hours , I think either i have wrongly worded my question OR most poeple here are so brainwashed by media and government to think that free speech is a VERY BAD thing and will immediately mean racism , cp and other bad things and that if i ask for free speech i immediately become a person who enjoys those BAD things and that these social media sites with little to no free speech and heavy moderation are doing the right thing (also thanks to the people who genuinely tried to understand my issue and answered me accordingly ) Today i have asked this question , one day a whole nation will do the same

The problem with absolute free speech online, if you only moderate illegal content, is that extremists of all kinds who have been chased away or banned from mainstream social media will find a home there. Just look at /pol/ or lemmygrad, one is full of neonazies, the other with tankies.
This will turn away “nornal” poeole so what you’re left with might not be the poeole whom you want to interact with.
Even tho I agree with free speech as a principle, especially when it entails protection from states/governments, I don’t think it’s something that the internet culture currently can handle. This is why I prefer forums that have as little moderation as possible while still maintaining a level of civility.
yes completely agree with you brother , i wish there was a paltform where everyone could have a respectable discussion without trolls or extremism…where people from every background could freely share their views and have a civil discussion … mf the old internet is dead
I’ve got bad news for you: that never happens on any so-called “free speech” platforms.
Yes, the old internet is indeed dead. It died many, many years ago. And is buried under a heap of advertising, spam. and troll posts.
Such a place doesn’t exist, and has never existed. In fact, it cannot exist. Because some groups and opinions are almost mutually exclusive, so you won’t have them both in the same space. If you have a platform that tolerates hatespeech, the targets of that hatespeech will naturally leave.
If your goal is to encourage the broadest diversity of opinions, some moderation is always going to be necessary.
