I’m sure something else will eventually come along. The only way to stop emulators from existing is to not have a system at all. I.e., if Nintendo were to stop making video game hardware, then there would be no new emulators except for ones developed for previous/existing hardware.
But we can’t have that I guess. I fucking hate corporations so much.
I know an even better way for them to save money. Anthony Wood, the CEO, gets like $20,990,000 in total yearly compensation. Like most these fucks most of it is non-salary, so they don’t pay taxes on it right away if at all.
I mean if people want to do this, I guess? I’m super socially awkward and even I wouldn’t want to do this. I want the person to like me, not the AI.
If this does happen, I hope they find a way to do it that doesn’t make Bezos and the like richer, like what happened with Standard Oil years ago.
Similar things are done with TV and streaming unfortunately. You ever notice how commercials/ads have louder volume than whatever content you’re watching? It’s intentional. If you’re someone who doesn’t skip them and doesn’t mute them, they want you to be able to hear them from another room and then they hope you’ll come back to see the ad. It’s so dumb.
What a dumbass he is, wow, just wow.
As all billionaires are. Along with unempathetic sociopathic psychopaths.
Shrinkflation. Make a product or service smaller or worse and charge more for it. Been happening for years now across different industries, product types, and service types.
Now we need a Kenny & Lenny crossover episode.
Silents are right before boomers. People born from 1928 to 1945. So people born right in the middle of pre-World War II and during the war itself. I would guess their children are mostly the younger boomers and older Gen X. Boomers’ kids are generally Gen X and some older millennials.
It always amazes me, in a bad way, how the christofascists want to call everything they don’t like indoctrination. They’re literally hiding things from their own children. I get wanting to protect your children, but IMO, that’s not the way to do it.
They function like a cult. You can’t have any beliefs outside of theirs, you can’t go against the grain, you are disowned if you leave, etc. You’re not an individual human being with your own thoughts, wants, needs, and rights, you’re just another number in their christofascist member log. They constantly spout things that been proven false for decades like they’re 100% real.
I saw something the other day that seemed to indicate that these types of beliefs are more engrained with boomers and silents and less so with younger folks. I hope that is the case and we can get away from this nonsense. Yet more things boomers and silents are doing to try to ruin the world before they die.
And FWIW, I’ve read the Bible cover to cover, unlike most of them, and a vast majority of the bullshit they spout isn’t even in the Bible. They’re making it up and using “religion” as a cover/excuse.
Should be federal law, but instead we’re a backwards ass country that thinks we need to do the 1950s over again but without the higher taxes on corporations and the rich. And then we as a country wonder why we have problems funding things without printing money.
Other “first world countries” have this, there’s no reason we can’t too, except greed by the oligarchy.
Fuck Reddit. I hope their egos and greed kill the site.
I have always HATED the auto refresh features so many sites enable by default. Twitter does it, Facebook does it, Reddit does it (sometimes), etc. I can’t stand it. I want to read what I scrolled down to not something that just randomly popped up. Or worse some of them do this weird thing where it scrolls me further down and automatically hides the previous ~5+ posts or something like that. Super annoying.
This type of thing should be a user setting, not a site wide setting, IMO.
Also, there should be a user setting (maybe I missed it?) to reposition the new comment box to the top of the page instead of the bottom.
Turning the front page of the Internet into the back page of your bird cage’s newspaper, one day at a time.
I mean we kind of have an informal version of this when the plane lands right? My last flight last year was super delayed and we nearly had to gently shove past people and literally run in the airport to make it to our connection on time.
I hope this bullshit kills their site. Monetization is necessary in some ways, but this is just pure greed.
Oh noes, not that. A total jackass who was a major contributor to the rise of the christofascists. Good riddance.
Now you tell me. I’ve been putting my headphones on my eyes for years and wondering why I couldn’t hear anything.
