I think you are mixing two things up. Some 4k remasters have incredibly distracting film grain. Blade Runner comes to mind. It’s a matter of personal taste and how accurate you want the film to reflect the film source.
The more compressed the file is, the les accurate it is, and film grain is the first thing to get crushed by compression algorithms
You can check your favorite subs daily and not be overwhelmed by content. It’s a nice thing
Lemmy currently lacks the userbase for niche, specific communities, or subregional communities
RT News is hardly a reliable Russian news source
Someone recommended qbitorrent search plugins earlier, I gave it a try and was I was surprised how good it is

Even if the Fediverse catches on and that Reddit goes down the way of Digg, Reddit will still remain a goldmine of information for years.
Lemmy, Mastodon and Kbin are the future of social media.
Considering it might not go out for at least 7-8 years, if not 10, I’m not suprised.
Because why would they say otherwise. DON’T PRE-ORDER GAMES
Maybe its a generational thing but I prefer having a Plex / Plexamp serveur with all my music as FLAC on my home server. I can better curate my collection and it’s available everywhere.
This is like watching a trainwreck in slowmotion. I feel so bad for employees whose company was bought up from Embracer.
That’s an unfortunate timing. They should have locked registrations before accepting too much traffic
Lemmy has grown exponentially in the past month, it’s frankly amazing how well it’s able to sustain the massive influx of new users, but yeah, some features like this one are dearly missed
