That error message is pretty bad, characters does not mean letters.
They are taking measures to ensure its not too easy to impersonate other users. Seems like a good idea to me.
I dont think it does. The thing that annoys me about fd is that it uses regex as a default for patterns while I’m used to having glob as default everywhere else.
And yet they abandoned it.

Tbh, if Linux had the same user base as windows had back then a large amount of people would postpone any update indefinitely and we’d be in the same shit.
