This is purely anecdotal evidence, but on my 2013 ThinkPad X220 (dual-core i5, 12GB RAM) Plasma “feels” snappier and more responsive than GNOME.

Reads a bit like projection on the responder’s part, don’t worry.
Debian Bookworm KDE - though I have to admit that it’s not my final destination when it comes to distro hopping, I guess. Currently thinking about giving Zorin OS a go.
Northern Germany here. The German flag is usually only flown at government or other public buildings or, as another commenter said, when there’s a special occasion such as an international football match.
Something a bit more common up here seems to be flying the state flag (blue, white and red), which can be seen in private gardens or on some residential buildings.
Sorry, not sorry, your original comment looks rather ableist. “Pull yourself up by your bootstraps” is a myth.
Manjaro GNOME w/ Pop Shell for tiling and the launcher. I mostly use it as a sophisticated virtual amplifier (Carla & Gx/LSP plugins) and for gaming. Can’t imagine going back to Windows, which I have to use on my work notebook for the time being.
No lurking? Okay, hi everybody. 👋😄
KDE fortunately doesn’t have to be a Windows clone. There are several guides available on how to customize the UX / workflow to something completely different. I get what you mean, though, the default UX seems to be at least inspired by Windows.
