I’m just happy to see a slowly increasing support base, even if its just to support wine

I know, I just hope that they don’t point to it and say “this is the reason we don’t make 2D Zelda games” like they did with Chibi Robo and that god awful 3DS game, or Star Fox and that god awful Wii U game.

We do, but they aren’t that good of a deal, especially since you can get the same discount… if not more, if you buy used. And you can sell the game when you are done rather than being stuck with digital.

That said, outside of Nintendo, who rarely if ever discount their games, most games on modern systems get heavily discounted months if not a year after they come out. You are a fool if you buy the latest Ubisoft Game new since it’s usually $15-$30 before it’s been on-sale for a year. Even Sony first party IP, I got most of them for $10-$20 a pop new or digital, since I bought in at the tail end of the PS4 generation.

Been waiting for a new 2d Zelda game since link awakening was rereleased. So far it looks interesting. The only issue I can see with this game is that it to is going to be $79.99 CAD and from what I’ve seen it’s so not going to be worth that. Hoping for a $49.99 or $59.99 CAD price tag, but this is Nintendo.

I don’t like apple. But I love to recommend them for 4 reasons:

1. The hardware, even the cheapest base specs is light years better than anything from Windows or Android. I can’t tell you how many times a relative bought an Android and stopped using it because it was unresponsive after a week. Or I had to stop another from buying a Windows PC with only 4GB of RAM… in 2022.

2. The fake download links are targeting Windows not Mac. Meaning that when a relative downloads their games or cousins gets a hold of their computer to download minecraft skins, their machine won’t be playing breakout on their desktop (yes this actually happened, and lived in the RAM from what I could tell)

3. When the OS updates, the careful configuration I made for them doesn’t break. Why [RELATIVE] are you using Edge, when I set up Chrome for you… oh your machine updated and moved the chrome icon, and this looks close enough to IE that you clicked on it. Cool.

4. I don’t have to teach them how to use Video Chats, or Web Messages, as they are baked in, won’t change after a week, and has been consistent since forever. Sure suck on my end when they ping my iPad instead of my phone, but that’s on me.

Buy some games on discount. I can easily get Fallout 4, or about 7-10 other games on steep discount. PC gaming is the best.

I use Linux because of the 3D desktop cube. Who doesn’t love the cube!

Hope this includes the original ROMs.

I have the iPad Pro with an M1 chip in it. And I never once thought… This needed more power, or this needed to be thinner.

I need a headphone jack, and I need better software support from third party devs (without the apple tax).

The only exciting news is the Pencil Pro, but even then it’s a niche use case. Plus them dropping the price of the existing iPad.

Sorry to hear that. Ubisoft Connect has been hit or miss for me. On my intel machine it works fine, on my nvidia machine the menu was just a black box which failed to or loaded so slowly that it was unusable. My only advice is to use the latest Proton/Wine-GE/Proton-GE and wait for updates from Ubisoft. This is all unofficial so having it work at all is a miracle.

I’m running it the latest Linux Mint running Lutris installed from their official deb file.

I had an issue with connect and the recent update fixed it for me. By if it’s the same issue I had, try running in Wayland if your using x11. Or go back to x11 if you are in Wayland.

I’m just going to point this out, I asked for no tech support.

No Pillow… yet, but yeah I’ve tried to look for replacement, but she’s a Gigabyte Clevo so finding parts isn’t easy.

Nah, she’s toast. Ran multiple distros, and the same problem persisted across Fedora, Arch, and Ubuntu. It’s also an Intel machine, and I’ve been eyeing a Framework with AMD. Which is why I’ve stated I am not looking for tech support.

This is true, I wanted to play a game and it looked broken in Linux. When I went back to Windows I discovered that it was a problem with the game. Then I went back to Linux and it ran better than it did in Windows.

In retro spect, Nintendo E-card reader being called e-reader is rather confusing. Though would’ve been fun if I got an e-card with Pokemon Manga on it. 🤣

I am just happy it turned out well… and my e-reader case had easy access to the cover fabric. That’s 1 point for making your own case.

I love the idea of KDE connect, but its over featured and buggy.

Most times I’m trying to send a file, the computer I’m sending to is not visible which requires me to goto that machine and reset KDE Connect. I can’t send more than one file or KDE Connect crashes and resetting it on Linux is a proper pain.

Plus I just want to use it to transfer files, yet there is no universal setting for the app, thus I have to turn on/off the features I want per device. And when KDE connect randomly forgets a device and I need to re-pair it I have to disable everything again.

At times Bluetooth file transfer is easier. But then I use it on my iPad, where the app can’t work unless its open and in focus. But the alternative is a great big middle finger. Its fantastic and I will deal with the KDE jank.

I’ve never been one for reading. Even for books with movies I love, I always found reading books myself a chore.

But when I saw the Ascendance of a Bookworm anime, I wanted to know what was going to happen after the season ended. This lead me to the Manga, which was behind at the time, then the light novel.

The word is rich and it has a depth that isn’t daunting. The character you meet feel like they have their own lives, and the sheer number of side stories which isn’t about our main character is wonderful.

This was the series the made me get an eReader just for the books and the many spin offs. And I now preorder it to get the prerelease chapters to get my bookworm fix every mynesday.

The translation work is amazing the story is my cup of tea, and I will recommend it to those who want something new.

We’ve already seen how this plays out in court with Sony vs BLEEM. I really hope Nintendo gets the books thrown at them, cuz I am getting really sick and tired of their “All illegal emulators stifles innovation” attitude. Especially with the fact that their fragile games are starting to break down and needs to be backed up for users to continue using their games.

They are pricey but cart readers like the GBxCart, Open Source Cartridge Reader, or simply modifying or running an R4 your Nintendo DS/DSi/3DS can help you backup your physical games. Which might I add is legal under archival laws in the USA (117) and backup laws in Canada (29.24).
