It’s historic. If you’d ever driven a Mk1 Ford Escort with 1289cc and a 3 speed slush-box automatic you’d understand.
Of course modern automatics are completely different but the preference for manual transmission is a hangover from those times.

I went to one in Bonn but as it was so long ago that Bonn was still the capital of West Germany I don’t remember it will enough to say how it compares to Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh etc. Also went to Cologne cathedral and there was some b*****d in a kilt standing outside playing the bagpipes

For no better reason than that Liam Proven mentioned it on Mastodon recently and I had an old laptop lying about that met the fairly lowly spec (4gb RAM, 15GB free space, 64 bit processor) and I was bored ☺️ It easily installed on a Packard Bell eadynote TJ65, team smoothly, and send to be a nice useable basic system. For which I’ve no real use already having a Xubuntu desktop & laptop, and a MacBook Pro😀
Welcome to the top of the slippery slope. Won’t be long before you’re digging out an old laptop to install Ghost BSD 😀
