  • Afaik, this is not possible. This would be handled by the host controller and the usb device itself. Which adheres to the standard it’s told it supports.

The kernel wasn’t designed to manage the host controller in this way.

However, you can limit the network traffic speed of a USB device with traffic shaping tools like ‘tc’

I do not claim to be an expert - I may be wrong.

  • God forbid you have a personal preference.

A little sad how offended people get about Apple. Are their consumer practices shit? Sure, like most companies.

A say “sad” because you could call me a “Google-hater” but never in my life have I wasted time shitting on everything anti consumer thing they do. Or find it necessary to remind like-minded individuals over and over again that “google bad”. We got it already.

Idgaf if you’re using a stock Galaxy, a de-googled f-droid, or a fucking flip phone. So why do so many “Apple-haters” care what I use?

Reddit I’m not surprised. Can’t speak for hacker news but if their comments are all in defense of Apple, that tells me everything I need to know about the site.

Lemmy…. lol we both know that’s bullshit. The whole FOSS community is here. Just look at the echo chamber we’ve already created in just this thread.

All I’m saying is we can be a little more nuanced than “Apple bad”. You see the same shit on both sides of the isle. Some people will shit on apple for something, then turn around and praise Google for the same shenanigans, or vice versa.

I agree that Apple targets the non-tech people. But there are still technical people with legitimate reasons they use Apple. We shouldn’t be discounted because you don’t agree with the company. I think most of us don’t agree with most companies.
