My solution is “have a large game collection, and move on to the next game”. The odd bad game will likely get better in a future version of Wine. Proton 9-something even picked up support for some of the fussier Japanese VNs (but not well enough for IMHHW, alas).
It’ll be another 400 years before Valve makes the “this title has no icon” text not look like total ass, but finally somebody over there took a whole minute to grab an icon from steamgriddb dot com
I have quite a few games where the native linux build is broken, too. World of Goo came out in 2008, and shockingly still works great today. I think #2 is gonna be great on Linux, too.
I would get rid of snaps.
So they called it an “Orange Pi”, but it is not an ARM SBC.
That’s an interesting choice.
Yes, the US grid is that bad (especially the profoundly corrupt Texas utility).
But in Linus’s case, it was just a big fucking tree that came down on his street. That tree looks like a scary mess to clear.
All the real homies are still running Linux95
I don’t see how swap has much chance to fragment. A swapfile has to be fully allocated up front and cannot be CoW. If it’s allocated well in the first place, it will stay that way.
The swap code doesn’t really do I/O through the filesystem. AIUI, it locks the file, gets the disk block #s from the FS, and after that it accesses those blocks directly.
Son of a bitch. Instead of “turning shit the fuck off”, is windows putting the wifi card into some sort of eternal WoL mode when it shuts down? And the wifi card isn’t resetting at boot time (or honoring a reset command) to give the linux drivers a known starting state?
A good argument against DOS 2.0 adding directories
I handle it more like ln -s /var/lib/flatpak/exports/bin/org.inkscape.Inkscape ~/.local/bin/inkscape
.local/bin is a directory that you may have to make, but your shell’s startup scripts should automatically add it to the PATH after that.
Ugh, I meant to say gamemode. As in Feral gamemode.

And the price for that beautiful, flicker-free experience is … some Macs will brick themselves. You can get them into a state where (IIRC) the dual-boot between an older macOS and a newer one (or Ashai) disagree on display modes, and the bootloader dies. Only Apple can fix that.
Because fuck you, that’s why

Nobara, which is by GloriousEggroll of ProtonGE fame, is the first thing to think of when looking for a gaming distro.
When somebody tells you “fuck off, I don’t want your business”, believe them.
