My week has been one of growth.

Over the past couple of months, my wife and I have been having lots of drama because she’s polyamorous, but I’m innately monogamous (at least thus far).

She has a boyfriend now and it’s been a struggle, but I’ve finally accepted/realized that there’s no actual threat of her leaving (which was the core source of my anxiety and jealousy).

So we’re doing awesome now! We still have sex, snuggle, and generally carry on as normal, just that she also has someone who is satisfying that need to experience new relationships.

So overall, my week is going great

Man, I was a teenager, reading the PC magazine ads, wishing I had the money to build a system like this!

That’s what I think, those who are actually interested in managing a quality sub will likely learn how the fediverse works and move, since the quality of people here will, on average, be higher than the unwashed masses.

That’s my sentiment as well. It’s just a transition period.

Yeah, I’m on the Tropical Weather discord and they announced they’re going dark, likely for good.

Multiple devs, but yeah…same here, I’m done with reddit.

Sync was amazing! Not a chance in hell I’ll use anything else.

I decided to setup a recurring donation to Beehaw in place of my reddit subscription.

In principle, I’m over reddit even if that backtracked. I’ve been reddit free for 4 days now.

I haven’t used reddit in 3 days now, completely fine with the great community here.

So is there any way for me to help in terms of load distribution? Still figuring out this federated stuff.

Let’s say beehaw for example.

I don’t think (?) I want to create my own instance to moderate or whatever, but am I able to create an instance which is like a node to help with load/volume?

Or is that a matter of beehaw needing beefier servers/bandwidth? Meaning it comes down to financial contribution (which I’ve already set a monthly donation for).

Tampa area here. Bought a house 5 years ago which we love, and we love the climate…so here to stay for the foreseeable future.

Hope it gets better at some point, but not holding our breath!
