People who are affected by the hate speech, can easily chose one of the many instances that are curating and censoring, and that is completely fine. The others who are not sensitive to it and want to hear what the other side is saying, should have a way to do so I think.

And basically all hate-speech is same idea. It is a rephrasing of one, single thought: “Those others, who are different to us, are inferior, and a threat to our way of life.”

Well you know, the same is said by both sides, and on both sides people always find a way to justify their stance and portray the other side as the worst evil, while the reality is in between.

That’s why I am not picking sides, but instead decide on my own what I think make sense what does not, but in order to be able to do that, one needs to be exposed to both sides of the argument. You don’t need to agree on everything with particular group, but you can agree on some things

Well I posted this to see if there are instances that already have similar principles, without creating my own.

Exactly, I am not necessarily planning on participating in these communities, I am just trying to be open minded and see what is posted there, who knows maybe there is something interesting.

Well the removal of posts and comments cannot be avoided. What I want is just to be able to see everything on my feed, and to be able to decide the communities I want to ban instead of admins doing that for me.

Well sure running my own instance would work, but I don’t think it is necessary really, as I am sure there are people who think similar and have instances dedicated to this.

A person can share some values from both sides of political spectrum. Why is that concept so difficult for people to understand?

I think they would be more moderate if more moderate people would have opportunity to participate. Right now all of the non left instances or communities get too quickly defederated and deleted, so moderate people who would normally participate dont want to create na account on a completely defederated instance. The only thing you are left of there are some crazies.

Redirecting the blame will not solve anything, you can blame rich people for many bad things happening, but blaming them for anything that crosses your mind is making your argument weak.

I saw the children that were burning the cars last night, they are at max 16-17 yo. They need to learn that their actions have consequences, it is a part of growing up. Telling them that what they are doing is fine “because rich people exist”, they will never take responsibility for their actions, and will always find someone else to blame. There is no possible way for you to justify their actions, because violence does not justify more violence.

I never noticed it being banned as I never cared about it. People who noticed are people who interacted with them, either supporting it or going there to get offended. But one of the reasons leaving reddit is censorship of different opinions, I don’t want the same to happen here.

I saw plenty of leftist being intolerant, but noone thought about censoring them. Being from a country that had great casualties due to nazi invasions, I am careful to who I am calling a nazi. There are actually moderated instances that have similar views as yours, you should look at beehaw.org. No reason for you to be exposed to the content you are sensitive to if you don’t want to. This is the beauty of lemmy in my opinion
