.net isn’t dead, that’s for sure. It’s not the top ecosystem, but it is pretty healthy.
The reasoning it was to not confuse with .net framework 4.x series, and since they went beyond 4.x, it’s just .net now. I believe .net core moniker was to explicitly distinguish is from framework versions.
It didn’t help the confusion at all, tch. Being a .net guy since 1.0, you just figure it out eventually

My ex wife did that with a new bank account years ago with 666 in it. I don’t recall her screaming at anyone, but, it was embarrassing , nonetheless, to watch her go around and around with a banker on the issue.

I never use all caps when I write SQL, not sure why people insist on it so much
1·9 months agoIt is a retirement savings plan that most employers offer. You put money in it from your pay period into it, and it is taken out pre-tax, as in your taxes are calculated from your pay during that period after the retirement deduction is taken out (other things are pre-tax also, but 401k is one of them)

How about a meeting an hour after our daily standup and it’s the CTO and CIO saying “ok is everyone on the call?”
I was telling myself “oh crap, the company is gonna shut down”
5 minutes later “So as of this very moment, everyone stop working. The company is officially closed as of this meeting.”
We were a start up essentially. Made it almost 9 years with ups and downs. This all happened at the end of July. At least got 3 month severance and insurance covered. I do start a new job Tuesday.

Blue, because I’ll might come to this again and take the red door on the second time around.
Except for the original deskjet they had back in the early 90s, I haven’t touched HP, on purpose anyways, since then. I hate their printers, their computers, and their software. Nothing about their stuff works properly and has been garbage for me.
Yes, I have a b&w brother laser/scanner than is 6 to 7 years old and it goes on without any issues (except networking BS at times, but that is likely my problem)
I am hoping MS getting Activision/Blizzard will make Activision/Blizzard a less garbage comoany
When does it happen? I’m 53, and still obsessed with software development and technology in general. Moving to the country sound like it’s nice and quiet, but too far away from urban things I enjoy.
