I refuse to pay for pirated content out of principal. It’s bad enough that I’m infringing copyright (and boy do I!) but commercialized piracy rubs me the wrong way. I even prefer Bittorrent over Usenet and FOSS media software over commercial software. Yarr!

Problems with BES?

BlackBerry 10 was actually a pretty slick OS that supported Android apps and you could even side-load Google Play services.

I’m a developer and I hardly ever compile shit for my personal computer from source. I’d rather use a package manager, sure, but on Windows that’s by far the exception to the rule and if you want regular users to use your app, it needs to be a downloadable EXE.

I was initially skeptical but if they actually sold lossless, Blu-Ray quality rips of videos, I’d pay more than a few bucks per movie or show for that.

I’m not surprised. I guess they follow on Google’s footsteps of anti-competitively neutering search results for things like weather and stocks from Firefox for Android vs. Chrome, which work fine if your change the user-agent. -_-

can’t, or won’t?

The one the door fell off of? That’s not very typical; I’d like to make that point. There are a lot of these planes going around the world all the time and very seldom does anything like this ever happen. I just don’t want people thinking these planes aren’t safe.

They look identical in most fonts, which is a huge problem for my open source project to simulate the former Vice President. It’s called: OpenAl.

Just because it’s portable doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s allowed on the organizations allow list, but it does seem highly unlikely that the organization doesn’t have any alternative text editors allowed.

But maybe they don’t edit text files often enough to bother. And honestly, notepad was recently updated with tabs which makes it a lot more usable that it used to be.

I bet a lot of the AI bashers are the same demographic that grew up with the Internet and mocked the baby boomers who were Internet skeptics.
