Heads too far up their own asses to see that there could be consequences because under the current system they built they don’t face any.

I’ve done some karate, wu shu(gong/Kung fu), and Tai chi. Thankfully, my instructors never got into the BS of chi or Feng shui.
I do think doing the physical work without accompanying mental work is missing out on some stuff though. Your physical status goes along with mental status and vice versa. Whether you choose to perceive that as chi, chakras, or just plain mental control(what I choose) is up to you.
Formerly known as time Warner cable (TWC) changed their name to try and avoid all the bad rep they rightfully had (and still have).
Hey man you gotta at least help make the pie.
;)
That’s an interesting take but with our term lengths that means a 15y can vote for president and senator but can’t vote for a house rep.
Does the podcast still have to be in English? And what topics are you usually interested in?
By ourselves not easily. But such a war is World War III…everyone is getting involved.
Russia has already shown their military is subpar. Ukraine aid has still been quite limited in terms of how much of the more advanced stuff we’ve been willing to give them and ability to strike Russian targets. They’ve already got over 500,000 casualties not to mention equipment losses. They’re starting with a disadvantage regardless of how Ukraine turns out. Biggest issues from Russia-owned GOPers continuing to detract and otherwise make full support difficult as well as disinformation campaigns.
The middle east is difficult. Question of getting bogged down (as per usual) as well as nuclear concerns. With NATO support on one side and opposing Russia-China support the other. Israel would likely be the biggest ally here(it is a major reason they get military support from us) and already have advanced weaponry and of course genocidal rage. Something something about enemies and enemies.
China would be the most difficult issue if already engaged with Russia and Iran. Numbers and military quality are certainly a concern. All the outsourced manufacturing would also be a major headache, honestly not certain which side would be hurt more by that economically. That said many nearby countries would probably be willing to aid in small and large ways because of dislike of China. Furthermore their last major military engagement was in Vietnam 1979 with skirmishes until 1991. So 30-40y on most Chinese commanders and infantry don’t have actual battle experience. So question of quality and whether with allies we could stand up to their manpower and manufacturing capacity.
Not certain how much Africa would come into play as that’d be a real mess.
All in all, winnable or not would only be determined by actual battle. Major losses of life for all involved.
India was a British colony for a long-ass time. English is the second most known language in India behind Hindi. More than 10% of the population speaks at least some English. English is also prominent among more educated fields because many indians study abroad in the US and UK. On an article written in English it is common to use photos that readers can understand. I assume there were/are also Hindi sign that just aren’t presented here.
Hindi is spoken by about 40% of the population.
Paperback. I’ve sometimes waited for paperback versions of books after their initial hardcover release. Cheaper, lighter, same reading, I used to be less patient so would suck it up and get the hardcover, nowadays I don’t read as much so waiting is easier. I read a lot when traveling and hardcovers are just such a pain. The only “nice” collection I have is LOTR+hobbit.
I’m trying out an eReader soon but I’m not sure I’ll be able to get away from the desire of physically turning pages.
NK will be their Japan, while Africa becomes a mishmash (again), China plays as a USSR type and Greece can be the new Italy.
I mean they get your name and place of work. The university will have a website with your name and picture (though they don’t update the pic often if ever).
As a researcher you will for better or worse also need social media accounts in order to network and be aware of non-standard funding opportunities. This at minimum is LinkedIn but Facebook/Twitter/Instagram are also used.
When you collaborate as the not main person you also have to be willing to use the tools/software the main person is using. Whether that is Dropbox, Microsoft office, Slack, or Google drive. Sometimes all of them for different things. I control what I can but simply have to let the rest go for my own sanity (and employability).
You can not. You can choose whether say your middle name is there or not but at minimum your first and last name are there. You’ll also be in society databases. Name changes from marriage are still clunky and many women remain under their “maiden” name for publications though now with orcid all your stuff getting linked together is a lot easier.
Certain pay for publish journals you could probably get away with a pseudonym and fake credentials but then you’re not doing good science.
I’m a 2 on the scale unless i try (I can do 1 but it’s not fast or easy for complex things).
Visualization isn’t usually an active thing for me. But when you say “think of a car accident” I can visualize one generic car t-boning another on a generic road. If you ask me to describe a room in my house I visualize most of the things there and described based off that visualization.
Hugging, yeah. My joints(knees, shoulders, back) are too fucked for what play wrestling is between guys, I forget that when I see my brother after a while but I get reminded right quick. No snuggling, but I’m also not usually on a couch when we hang, still probably not.
Usually for large businesses like universities IT can choose when to push updates.
Trial on people who they don’t care about upsetting.
At a societal level young people arent getting the benefits of their work. We’re getting what is paid for. They’re paying those old guys pensions+benefits but their own has been cut to the marrow. Consumers pay isn’t going to them. And good fucking luck to any of them trying to start up against behemoths both local and national that can nip them in the bud before they become competitive.
They tell you an email because many people have more than one.
A lot of Israeli money. AIPAC is just the most well known.
