Maybe I shouldn’t have bought their stock a while ago… but it was so cheap 😅
I guess I’m stuck with it now 😑

i used symlinks first, but they break when you rename target files or directories.
as long as it’s one file system, hard links work better for me. so one day i replaced them all with hard links.
i have different directories named after moods/styles filled with hard links to my music. works better than playlists for me
You can go to https://distrowatch.com/ , but some are so abandoned, their status is unknown. Schrödingers distro: You have to try and install it to find out whether it’s still a thing.
b-but that requires signing up. too much effort 😅
it’s called mockery. try to keep up
lol this person can’t merge layers in gimp. there’s at least 3 obvious ways to do it, e.g. right clicking on a layer.
I always got receipts and cancellation infos via the mail connected to the Google account. One time there was no balance and I had no payment methods set up and I got “Your Google Play balance is too low to pay for your {app name} subscription. To keep your subscription active, please add credit or a new payment method.”
So, if you get email notifications you probably don’t need that.
It’s not “free” it’s Free™
can’t you like just, chill until you’re healed? forcing yourself to do things that hurt and go home early sounds unhealthy. a day more in hospital doesn’t seem so bad compared to possible complications
yeah, the icon problem is stupid. there will always be apps that don’t set the icon properly in both. especially new ones where the devs didn’t get to that for every environment, yet.
a bigger problem is java though. it’s still not wayland ready and is distorted in the compatibily layer xwayland. some old, closed source java apps that use “native” stuff (like games) will probably never run well on wayland.
one of the cool things about tar is that it’s hard link aware
if anything goes wrong, you can blame the replacement AI now. so there is still something to hold accountable.
sorry, most are too private to post them here, but an exception was:
MySQL RAND
I expected to find the actual manual page from dev.mysql.com , but it wasn’t even in the first few pages.
those debian daredevils like the thrill of living on the edge
apparently fools consider a finished app “dead” or “abandoned” if there isn’t a new release every week. so yeah, dev’s will just change a comment to not have their apps shunned
I’m trying SearXNG at the moment. Seems better and faster then all others so far.
Before that I tried gibiru.com and mojeek.com but wasn’t satisfied with results or indexes.
if you use a tiling wm/compositor or extension, big screens aren’t so bad, because it will usually split first in the middle, basically giving you two screens, but with the option to also maximize over the whole area, if needed.
ah the infamous NaN lumber 🤣
i would make a loss because of the tax on stock trades in my country and the fee of my banks broker ☹
but, as I mentioned it was kinda cheap, so not much money stuck in it. (i only trade shares for fun. i spend the money from my gaming budget on it, since i’m not very interested in new PC and console games any more.)
