Can it run problem bank apps? I need a bank auth app for work as the bank stopped fobs and it just would not run on LineageOS. It refused to run because “the phone is insecure”. I tried Magisk hiding stuff and MicroG, and a number of way of tricking methods. That’s why I ended up on GrapheneOS, as a compromise without feeling too compromised. Everything seams to think it’s on a normal Android phone, but I’ve sandboxed the Google tentacles. But it would be better if mandating OS wasn’t allowed. If I want to run a “insecure” phone, that’s my “problem”.

  • It’s an entertainment channel, that happens to have “news” in it’s name. So not subject to news rules. So it can have Tory MPs as presenters interviewing other Tory MPs as guests.

That OK isn’t it? Not remotely dishonest and unbalanced…

They will get shutdown soon enough for this dishonest nasty stuff. Or, as they will say, “silenced by the woke main stream for telling the truth”. It’s kind of what they want.

  • I’ve been on Debian Testing for my own desktops for about 15 years now. Sometimes as a Frankendebian mixing in SID/unstable. Sometimes mainly unstable, but mostly just Testing.

It rarely breaks, but when it does, it’s a learning opportunity. Stable for servers and other people’s desktops. Maybe with backports. Flatpacks if this no other option.

You don’t get 100% solid and 100% new. Ever. With anything.

  • Just a follow up to this.

So I never ended up contacting O2 to say “please stop this”, I just used Wireguard to home and ignored it. Until the local Morrison’s wifi started doing the same thing but worse and I couldn’t event Wireguard round it.

So I finally just bought a domain and setup my Apache to redirect the old duckdns to the new domain.

So far this all seams to be working great.

Yes. Too much for people to learn, so they make mistakes. I’ve seen compilers get confused with C++. Though it was MS’s…

If a language isn’t tight, it should at least be safe. C++ is neither. You can do anything with it, but I don’t think it’s ever really a good tool for a particular job.
