Oh absolutely! I wouldn’t trust them with anything mission critical but for little projects here and there they’re absolutely amazing.
I’d recommend racknerd. Their black Friday pricing is available year round and they have super good annual pricing on some of their VPS options https://www.racknerd.com/BlackFriday/
I think there’s a little more at play than just not reading it lol
Loading screens got shorter as tech improved. Now tech is too fast for proper ads so I bet there’s going to be intentional delay time added in the future for more ad impressions.
Isn’t Netflix exempt from these fees too? Or do they just not allow you to sign up in app and redirect to a browser?
Well didn’t they initially want carriers implementing RCS with interoperability between each other to sunset sms? But that didn’t quite pan out. IIRC there was a time when Verizon had a limited number of devices that supported RCS but only on their network, similar story with Bell in Canada. Hell at one point even Samsung had RCS but only with other Samsung phones. Fragmentation was rampant so Google took matters into their own hands. Not saying I’m happy Googles at the helm but they didn’t start out with that intention.

Well apparently enough people still like it to downvote me lol
I second this. They’re trying so hard to be inoffensive it’s eroding the satirical stereotypes that every character is supposed to be. It’s a hollow shell of what it once was.
In theory, sure. But, realistically I can’t picture an economically feasible way to transport it.
This right here. If you block ads you’re literally worth less than nothing to them and they couldn’t care less where you go. You’re just a bandwidth leech. I use uBlock, but have some self awareness.
I thought the man was joking then I saw his smooth brained response below. Software patents are cancer and shouldn’t exist.
Give it a break. To the average user that’s like using a bazooka to hunt deer. I love Linux but Windows has its place for most people and will for many years to come.
Can someone point out what kind of actual benefit reddits stands to gain from this? Although there are many, many, MANY things they’ve done in the past that are unpopular, I’ve been able to understand why they did it even though it sucked for end users. This one just seems dumb though. Since their shitty API changes 99.9% of my reddit traffic is from search sending me there. Hell there’s people that have only used reddit as a search resource and nothing more.
I’m pretty Linus has said on the wan show before that they intentionally didn’t partner with twitch because of this and that’s why they’ve always simulcasted. It may have changed since though.

Right? They try to make us the product by hard baking invasive telemetry into windows. Then want us to pay for it too? Nawh.
I agree with almost everything you said. I’m not referring to services like Netflix as owning. More specifically the recent debacle with Sony removing access to PURCHASED content. I would happily buy my movies and TV shows on something like Google play movies or Apple TV. My issue is I can’t trust any of these corps not to pull the rug out from under me. Their track record says they will. It’s a question of when not if. We need a streaming equivalent of Spotify for TV and movies. Obviously it would be much more expensive than Spotify, but I would happily pay for the convenience of having anything I want as much as I want on one platform/interface. Streaming sucks right now where libraries are spread across platforms with varying interfaces, bitrate etc. shit just sucks lol
