What kind of musicals do you like? I don’t generally care for musicals as much as other play formats, but I got to see some real fun ones when I was a backstage tech at a theatre.
The Wiz is absolutely amazing though.

What model, and could I get your opinion/recommendation on them? I’ve had a pair of “JBL Tune 760NC” headphones for a few months now and they’re okay, but the noise cancelling isn’t nearly as good as I’d hoped.
As much as I so dearly love the word scallywag, it already has an extremely rigid place in my vocabulary as a cat-exclusive term.
Yeah, ligma anti-air shot from my corn cob gunlance!
(That’s the rest of the joke right?)
No firsthand experience (yet. Subject to change soon though) but i’ve heard reports across the board that switch emulation is often superior to actual switch performance. I heard plenty of times that Pokemon scarlet/violet can run at 60 fps with no dips at all, where my switch struggled to hit 30 in some areas.
For you, maybe. Mine is filled with black screen pocket photos, furry porn, and 714 copies of a video of a horrifying mecha furby that’s stepping on its own removed face.
Another copy shows up every time I have a nightmare about it, which is pretty odd, now that I think about it.
Ah yes, what a great superpower to have when your brain essentially registers every single noise like it needs your full attention, every time.
Framing extremely debilitating things as a “superpower” feels wildly ignorant and disrespectful.
Definitely not an AI. An AI would say humans have 9 fingers on each hand, for a total of 47 fingers.
Dunno about you, but when someone says they’ll garnish my wages, it does not get my loins rustlin’.
How’s the rpi4 as a media server? I wanted to do that too, but i looked into it when the 3B was new and the general consensus was that it wasn’t really ideal.
As an aside, raspberry pi’s are so cool. My rpi3b running retropie/ emulation station turned out so great, and it runs way more games than I expected.
First and foremost, I don’t know or particularly care about fanclub opinions as a whole. Not trying to be rude or anything, but it’s weird to tell me that A is great despite what B fans tell me when I never even heard a word from B fans to begin with.
I’ve looked briefly into plex recently, which seems bloated with services and monetization that I don’t want or care about (even the help articles are written like ads), and I’ve looked at the 3 websites for Jellyfin that I linked, and Jellyfin seems like a more clear cut and feature rich version of what plex started out as, which was primarily a media server program.
Thank you for giving me just enough curiosity to look up what Jellyfin is. I’ve been wanting to set up a media server but lost interest quick when I realized Plex seems to have completely moved away from being a media server program. I’m so stoked to give it a proper try.

Yeah, that was poor wording on my part, reading my comment back. I said it’s likely that it was either of those, but I was thinking more along the lines of “it sounds similar to either of those”. I also doubt they do IP bans, and I don’t know enough about MAC address logistics. I assumed they’d be able to pull that info from a web browser, depending on the one used.
Ah, that makes more sense. I couldn’t remember the specifics but I’ve have always done ethernet on my pc so that checks out for my experience.
Edit: Likely Sounds to me like an IP and/or MAC address ban (MAC address is tied to motherboards IIRC). I got banned once from one of my old favorite games (PSO2) for mistakenly swapping my vpn mid game. After a lot of troubleshooting and an apartment move in between, a MAC spoofing program is what did the trick.
Side note, does lemmy use markdown format? If not, does anyone know what it uses?
“Any recommendations for good cummies here?”
“I usually start my day just laying in bed and checking out new cummies”
“It’s unfortunate that niche cummies don’t always have the support needed to stick around. I’ve seen great cummies wiped away before they could really build any volume up.”
“It’s so often overlooked, but proper handling of cummies is really what keeps them enjoyable day after day.”
Yep, I see no fault with the naming scheme here. Really rolls off the tongue well too. Very palatable. Definitely not absolutely cursed.
lol I worked at a professional theatre for 5 years (and theatres in general for way longer) and you seem like you’re more well versed than I am.
Interesting point about Les Mis and Phantom. I enjoyed Les Mis the last time I saw it, but that was ages ago, during a time that I also liked Phantom (I still like a few songs in phantom, but hoo boy there’s a lot of grossly problematic themes in it). Phantom with a high budget can be a blast to watch though, from a technical standpoint. I saw it once in Las Vegas. The chandelier was in 3 pieces hanging above the audience seating, and it slowly lit up and came together above the stage during the overture. It was fucking crazy to see. (awful audio warning: I found a terrible quality video on youtube!)
Haven’t seen Wicked, Cats or Hamilton (or basically any broadway show. I’m a heretic, I know lol), so I can’t comment on those. I haven’t seen Evil dead: the Musical, but I’ve wanted to for ages. I’m big on Horror movies, and the Evil Dead movies are all wild.
I’m glad you mentioned Moulin Rouge. That movie is so fucking incredible. El Tango De Roxanne has lived rent free in my head since I first saw it and I’m honestly so glad about it.
As for recommendations to check out:
Sweeney Todd. The 2007 movie with Johnny Depp is great (and very bloody) but I’ve seen a few renditions of it live and it’s honestly always a great show. Checks a lot of boxes for me (good tunes, dystopian, and a surprisingly heavy story given that the theme is often horror-comedy-esqe).
Urinetown. Been a while since I’ve seen it, but it’s a great satirical musical (it makes jabs at a ton of stuff, but it’s mostly aimed at capitalism in general).
Little Shop of Horrors. This one has a special place in my heart because it’s the first musical I worked on in highschool that I actually enjoyed. Not much to say, it’s just a fun show.
