Hey FUCKER, I wanted to say thanks for making this community and the posts that you made, it’s one of my favorite little corners of the internet. I agree that it could easily turn into a 196 clone without a moderator… there’s a certain difference and uniqueness here from other places that’s really hard to put a finger on. I can’t take on moderation, but I’ll be sad to see it go.

Why would vim reinvent itself? Vim’s functionality has been standard for years, and works as expected. You can always use nano or something similar instead, which is probably a lot more usable to someone who doesn’t want to learn all the advanced functionality of vim or emacs

I really hate it but I still have active group chats that I haven’t had luck getting elsewhere. I get the impression it’s the same for most people because I haven’t heard anyone say anything positive about it in years
