How is this a controversial take? If you need a wall to keep people in or attempting to emigrate makes you a “defector”, or you’ve built up a huge surveillance network where your neighbours or even partners can report you for bullshit “crimes” , you’re an authoritarian state.

We hired a big house in Wales for our wedding, it was lovely! We stayed in Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire, overlooking the valley, it was gorgeous. Huge house, hot tub, decent garden, it was perfect. If I had a group of friends then I’d definitely head back.

My only experience of Africa has been Tunisia which I really enjoyed. There’s so much of the world I’d love to explore but, time, money, children!

Yeah we’re thinking of heading to Cornwall, we’ve always gone to a decent caravan park at the start of September before my son began school, but now we’re having to look in the summer holidays and the prices are crazy!

I think your experience is probably similar to a lot of people’s that join Lemmy. There’s certainly a lot of people on this platform with quite extreme views. Many instances got sick of them and blocked them, and in turn they think we’re liberal fascists.

I think most people by now have received bans from the world news community on lemmy.ml, including myself. I wouldn’t worry about it!

My only complaint with the modlog is that it doesn’t say which moderator performed the action. It just says “mod”, so there’s no way for a community to make sure particular mods aren’t just going rogue.

You can put /modlog after the instance URL, e.g. https://lemmy.world/modlog

We don’t do that here (UK), there’s no order in which people are served their food. It doesn’t really matter, as it’s “polite” here to only start once everyone has got their food.
