Got in touch with ProtonVPN support and asked about this. Here’s their reply:
Our engineers have conducted a thorough analysis of this threat, reconstructed it experimentally, and tested it on Proton VPN.
We concluded that:
- The attack can only be carried out if the local network itself is compromised
- Our Windows and Android apps are protected against it
- For iOS and macOS apps, you are completely protected from this as long as you’re using a Kill Switch and a WireGuard-based protocol (our apps use them by default, and if a user wants to use something other than WireGuard derivates, they’d have to manually set it up). Note that Stealth, WireGuard TCP and Smart protocol on iOS/macOS are all WireGuard-based.
- For our Linux app, we’re working on a fix that would provide full protection against it.
I reported the bug to Proton support and they said they are investigating but suggested I uninstall and reinstall the extension. I did and lo, my forms started working again. I can recommend you try to uninstall and reinstall too (disabling it was not enough).
Note that the “plus” suffix doesn’t hide your real email, that’s a small but notable difference. I could well see websites parsing for +… patterns and removing them before selling your data.
That’s cool! I’ve used enough raspberry pi’s over the years to know that SD cards, even if industrial grade are likely to fail at some point so I try to avoid booting from them. eMMC would be much better but sometimes a pain to flash depending on the tooling available. Having a SATA port would allow to use HDDs which provide a lot of capacity for cheap. I guess the processor needs to be an Amlogic for the best media experience?
How does storage look/work with a SBC? Do you have to boot off of an SD card? Any support for sata drives?
With 4 fingers tho
This is not rust :D Nothing will save typescript
Reimplements in C
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Piped is also hit or miss. I have to change instance almost every day, even the small ones don’t always work.
Thanks for the clarification! My assumptions were wrong ^^ although I saw once a lady who tried to leave without paying, but the worker noticed and they spent a good 5 minutes convincing her to put in cash into the machine, which apparently she had but had to look for in her bag for a looong time.
Can confirm. The only deterrent is the potential for an random bag check by an employee but that never happened to me in years of using self checkout. Some shops have a worker over watching a dozen of stations to help out or just identify suspicious behavior but it’s very unintrusive.
Jellyfin never worked great for me on my older tablet and chromecast. Always struggled with either unsupported codecs or just buffering to hell. My plex server is also on somewhat limited hardware and jellyfin could never transcode fast enough, where plex has no issue.
You can of course export your yt subscriptions as a CSV file and import them into Piped, and you can also use a difference instance to host your account/data as the one you’re using to stream the content. Did I mention built-in sponsorblock support and native apps like LibreTube?
Piped is great, the content goes through a proxy so there’s no interaction with YouTube servers and your account and subscriptions are also isolated.
I get something similar in Switzerland for maybe a bit more expensive (27CHF) but it’s truly unlimited and unthrottled and even includes some roaming data in other European countries.
Can’t you just create a new account on ygg when you reach your quota? Or ratiomaster
It’s pretty nice. It’s just a very simple front that will add a series or movie to radarr or sonarr. Not great for discovering new stuff but the search works well to find stuff you’re looking for. No complaints from my side!
Something like this is a good start! I use transmission as the torrent client instead of deluge. Also added a service for my vpn and use that as the network for the tranmission service so all traffic is routed through the vpn. https://ochoaprojects.github.io/posts/PlexAutomation/
