This gives me very strong Talos Principle vibes. I should try playing the sequel at some point…
Older houses definitely have them… but there was this trend at some point to renavate older houses and remove the oil heaters and fireplaces and wood heated saunas, and replace everything with electric ones. Why? No idea, trends are weird.
I love this. I’ll also probably have nightmares tonight now that I’ve been reminded of Lovecraft’s stories. XD
Maybe they are what the dimension needs to be protected from?
I randomly came across this community maybe two weeks ago. I still have no idea what this community is about, but I know I love the content. Thanks for putting effort into moderating thingies, have a cookie! 🍪
Why does anyone need any temperature? I find it most comfortable! I’ve also noticed sleep is a lot better when the air is a bit cooler. Anything above 18°C just makes me feel uncomfortably warm.
I like to keep my home at 16°C (60.8°F) when possible. Summers are hell.

I’ve been seeing some of that, but there are apparently also a ton of bots being created for who knows what reason and that’s spooky. (it made the user count jump up in hundreds of thousands) Can’t say I know much about that, but I’d imagine it’ll cause some issues sooner than later…
I was inspired by some new memes I saw to try and create some of my own. Maybe with enough practice they’ll become funny!
Oh how the times change… soon people will be sent to Siberia as a reward!
Probably because based on the picture alone, it looks like a chad cop executing someone or something? I doubt people would connect that to political correctness.
I didn’t even use Reddit all that much, but here I’ve spent way too much time already. Just seeing all these communities forming and people trying to find their place is fascinating. Not really something I see every day!
A friend sent me this meme some two years back. It got be thinking and I ended up on Reddit for memes. We no longer talk. Perhaps there’s some truth to this meme!
In general and if you don’t know the person you’re making the recommendation to, agreed. But I know several people I’d definitely recommend (and have recommended) Arch to as the first distro. Even just the installation process is so educational, it’s a worthy starting point, after some general youtube videos perhaps. If someone just wants to take Linux for a quick test drive, Arch definitely isn’t the way to go.
Although, I’ll admit I’m not sure how to describe the type of people I’d recommend it to. If their interest is less practical, and more theoretical. Or if they get really into their hobbies and like to tinker and poke at things to see what happens. Or if they just have an endless curiosity and need to understand. Surprisingly many people I know fall into these categories.
