My problem with it is the whole purpose of what the device does based on the post is stupid. It just puts a notification on the screen as a way to try and use social pressure to get people to stop vaping. But that doesn’t work cause no one really cares if you vape or not. Some people might even think it’s cool or might turn it into a game of trying to vape without setting it off to impress their other friends who vape. I graduated highschool in 2019 and people definitely vaped and the only people they really cared about hiding it from were the teachers, no other students cared at all. So because of all of that this kind of device is just a waste of money that could be better spent on educating kids on how vaping is bad, just like what we did for cigarettes that worked so well.

I remember during the GPU shortage I managed to get a new graphics card from waiting outside a best buy for it to open. So I tried to sell my old one on eBay. Gave good pictures and followed all the rules as far as I could tell but because I had never sold anything on their platform before I was instantly banned with no way to appeal. I get they were probably having to deal with lots of scammers but if I could appeal or talk to support I could literally prove I had the GPU I was selling but as far as I could tell there was no option for that. So now I can’t sell anything on eBay unless I get someone else to sell it for me.

What I hate more are the entry level jobs that will be like that. Like bro it’s an entry level job and you’re expecting people to have a super deep understanding makes no sense. Like I get it’s just marketing and a way to lower the number of applicants to get just the really good ones but it makes it so much harder to figure out what level of skill a job is looking for if they all say they want experts with certain skills or tools.

Not really a messaging app but it works as a way to spread information about what’s happening. Especially through live streams on the platform which people in the protests can use to figure out what’s going on at other parts of the protest.

I mean at least when it comes to design it was shit in the past cause either it was being done by people who didn’t know much about design or it was something new and people didn’t know what would be a good design for it. Now it’s shit cause making it shit in certain ways let’s companies make more money.

Then once you do that find a spatial anomaly that causes a time loop so you can keep trying till you get it.

The thing I’ve always noticed about getting more monitors is that you never really think you need one more monitor until you end up getting one somehow. After that you start getting used to the extra space and it feels wrong to go back to having less. When I originally had one monitor I was just used to that and didn’t see anything wrong with it. Once I got two monitors I again felt good and got used to it. It was really nice to be able to watch stuff while playing games or have Unity and Visual Studio on separate screens at the same time. Eventually I got a nicer monitor and decided to go up to 3 monitors which again felt really nice and I found uses for all 3. That’s where I’m at now and I don’t have plans to get anymore but if I ever got a newer monitor there’s a good chance I would end up giving 4 a try cause why let one of my older but still good monitors go to waste. And I imagine I would still be able to find uses for the extra space. I feel like at some point there is a limit but at least so far every time I’ve gained more monitor space even when I’m not sure what I would use it for I always end up using that extra space for something.

Yeah they could fit 5 more of them in there.

I’ve noticed that without prime you can still get free shipping if you just have a big enough order, so as long as you don’t buy a ton of small purchases individually but instead save up what you need for bigger purchases then the only advantage prime has is the shorter shipping time. Which I’ve also noticed sometimes that the shipping without prime will often arrive a day or two earlier then it’s original estimate, probably cause Amazon has optimized for that shorter 2 day shipping. It’s still not usually 2 days but for most stuff it’s either a week or less which is usually plenty fast for anything I get on Amazon.

Good luck with that, the highschool I went to had a hard enough time getting students to stop vaping at school and during class, smartphones would be a much bigger battle. I graduated in 2019 and I still remember when they would try to crack down on cell phone use, never really affected me that much cause I only ever used my phone during class if I was done with everything but I still saw it go the same way every time. It would always only ever last for a month or two before the teachers just gave up because in the end if someone doesn’t wanna pay attention during class taking away their distraction isn’t gonna make them. They’ll just find some other distraction like talking to people or just zoning out. The problem is school just isn’t engaging and sure you can blame cell phones and social media for making it harder for people to pay attention to things that they don’t wanna do. But that doesn’t mean the solution is to not allow them during school, cause I’ve seen from experience that doesn’t help even if you manage to take away the phones, which already is really hard without impacting students who are following the rules negatively.

It’s not just some events tacked on. I’m pretty sure you can create your own game experiences inside of Fortnite much like Roblox.

I think he’s talking about all non-suv or trucks in the US being small or underpowered. Not other country cars being small.

I honestly only use self check out. I don’t buy a ton in a single shopping trip and I just find it easier to do it myself since I bring my own bulky bags that go on the side of my bike. A lot easier for me in general and sucks some places are getting rid of it.

I have two very different kinds of games I did this with.

The first was Undertale, didn’t really get into it at first and stopped playing it around half way through. However after I watched someone else beat the game I got a lot more into it and finally beat all the main endings. Really liked the story and it quickly became one of my favorites after that.

The other is the Crusader Kings games. I got one of them when I was pretty young through a humble bundle and did not understand how it worked at all. Then near the end of highschool I finally tried them again along with playing Stellaris and thats when I was finally able to figure out how to play them and got super into a lot of Paradox’s games.

Pop Os was actually what I used before funnily enough and yeah I found it really nice. Probably will try that again when I get the chance.

It was mostly games (mainly Microsoft ones, no surprise there) and the fact that at the time I was going to college for game programming, so needed to use stuff like Unity and Unreal Engine. Which I think I saw with Unreal Engine you can make it work on Linux but you had to like compile it yourself and I didn’t want to deal with running into problems with that since I was using it for my classes. Although now that I’ve graduated I might give it a try, see if anything has changed since I last gave Linux a shot. Just seems like in general a lot of game development stuff is done more on Windows unless you’re not using a commercial engine.

I tried dual booting for a while but eventually I just stopped using the Linux side. Didn’t really have a reason to switch over when everything worked fine on Windows. Id just keep using windows after I used whatever software or game only worked on windows cause it was just more convenient. I did really like Linux and there were a lot of really cool things about it but until Linux reaches a point where all the big games, both on and off steam, work on Linux without having to follow some guide I just don’t think it’s for me.

The only reason they’re that bad is cause it’s what people click on. I do agree they look terrible but it’s what draws people in.

This is the classic problem with all paradox games that I don’t really have a solution for. Like as players we want them to support the game for a long time and keep updating it, but unless that’s through dlcs then they can’t really do that without getting paid somehow. The other alternatives are just not doing any updates and releasing a full new game every couple years which would probably have less features added compared to doing dlcs. Or having a subscription that you pay to get new updates which while I’m personally fine with I know a lot of people aren’t. So that just leaves the current strategy of constantly doing dlcs and every once in a while releasing a new game and bringing over as many dlc features as they can to the new one while not making the development time unreasonable.

Did companies ever actually do anything after net neutrality went away? I still think it’s a great thing to have but just genuinely curious if anything really happened cause I didn’t notice much.
