Ok, then what do you call a professional wage-labourer (“working class”, in the marxist definition) who is nonetheless a millionaire? A high-paid professional on 100k can quite easily become a millionaire in their lifetime. If they are mere workers, same as the rest of us, that just strengthens my argument because a socialist regime would have to tax them less.

That is… not how money works. In order to tax the Billionaire wealth (which primarily is the companies they own) you are either forcing them to sell (by taxing them x% of wealth, leaving them without liquid assets to pay the tax) or seizing assets and re-selling. You can’t tax the rich and expect them to stay rich forever by virtue of taxing them.

UK billionaires have total a net worth of about £170 billion. Would it be nice to have some of that? Sure, but it’s less than two years of pension spending (£120 billion, and going up by the minuite).

We can tax the millionaires too, but eventually you get to the upper-middle class who are already paying a 45% marginal tax rate.

A dose or two of socialism might get us from 71 to 69 (nice), but honestly I think we’re all going to have to suffer from the economic mistakes made over the last 14+ years.

My (UK based, but owned by German parent) company sent out an Email denouncing the AfD.

I know what you’re getting at here, but there are a lot of valid answers to this question.

• Fuel, tractors aren’t known for their efficiency. Whatever price hikes you’re getting at the petrol station they probably pay too.
• Climate, doesn’t matter how much more consumers are paying if half your crop has been destroyed by drought/floods/heat.

• Transit, this is mostly a UK thing (“brexit bonus”) , but any country with supply chain disruptions associated with the current global recession is going to have this issue to some extent or another.

On the other hand, your arguments against polls are equally valid arguments against any form representative democracy. Politicans, policies and programs are just like polls. People will often vote purely based on surface apperances. See: every law called “the fluffy familes act” or two-thirds of US elections going to the taller cannidate.

Depends on church, I recently visited the babtism of a Lesbian couples’ child featuring readings by a trans lay-minister. This was CoE, rather than any ‘rainbow church’.

It’s true that almost every mainline Church denies the right of gays and poly’s to marry as they would wish. Beyond that single sacrement however there’s no need for exclusion. Many congregations are still full of assholes, absolutely, but you’d be surprised how often the views of the Church body diverge from talking heads like Calvin Robinson.

Trans-rights are an odd-space. There isn’t actually anything in the bible explicitly denying trans ontology (at least for binary trans people), so again it’s a matter of specific bigotry rather than institutional bigotry.

I mean, I do agree PR is better than FPTP, just for different reasons. Brexit is bad sure, but I’m not sure I’d want UKIP to have >12% of seats in parliament either.
