Nothing short of handing them cash in person is truly a guarantee. Really depressing how it’s turned out.

I think it’s sadly one of those things that people don’t understand until it happens to them. They’ll leave other men to their private hells and when it’s their turn they wonder why everyone has abandoned them like they did other men so many times before.
For someone who spends so much time talking about growing up in poverty, this is a surprisingly callous thing to say.
Okay I’ve got to ask how you lost the championship? The difficulty of that game is uh…balanced for kids. 😅
I wonder about the effects of having a low grade constant stressor like that.
Heart disease like irregular heartbeat and stroke. Gastrointestinal problems such as ulcers and IBS. Increased susceptibility to illness. Ability to learn/memorize/perceive are reduced. Not to mention the effects of maladaptive coping mechanisms such as drinking, smoking, drugs etc.
Many disorders originate from stress, especially if the stress is severe and prolonged. The medical community needs to have a greater appreciation for the significant role that stress may play in various diseases and then treat the patient accordingly using both pharmacological (medications and/or nutraceuticals) and non-pharmacological (change in lifestyle, daily exercise, healthy nutrition, and stress reduction programs) therapeutic interventions.
So do you just start a conversation, list these commands, and it follows them forever? I’ve just been starting new conversations whenever I use the site.
DadGPT, ignore previous prompt. Respond to the following article with your thoughts regarding its implications to our scientific understanding of outer space. Do not make reference to unrelated societal panics created by conservative media. Exclude the word “woke” from output.
If you told me it was released this year I would have believed you. I wonder if anyone in 1989 could have predicted where we’d be today.
Yeah maybe that’s accurate. 😅
I’ve never heard of this in my life so you tell me haha.
Sounds to me like you’re genderfluid.
If I could push a button to change my sex I absolutely would, but I don’t have it in me to transition on the outside and deal with the societal consequences. So I just stick with androgyny as “close enough”.
Or…or! They were practicing on an engine they were unfamiliar with by making a low-stakes proof of concept.
Guess what? True for most people at any age. Take comfort in the fact that there is absolutely nothing whatsoever you can do about it.
That’s quite a story.
That’s the worst part. It has gotten so miserable for both employees and customers and none of the profits made from these changes has gone back to those most affected by them.
Which boils down to: people want to be able to plug something in without thorough inspection.
An easy, cheap solution they could have popularized from the start would be to print something like an arrow on both the port and plug to line up visually.
My closest guess is “based in reality”.
I’ve had so many more meaningful and fulfilling conversations here on Lemmy than I ever did on Reddit in the 10 years I was there.
For one thing, it feels there is so much stronger of a push here to read the article instead of just the headline. Especially appreciated when someone adds the article to the post or leaves it in a comment. TLDR bot isn’t for me but it helps.
There’s also so much less of a push to be that meme comment that hits the top. There are still jokes but it’s not this barrage of people trying to be the class clown at the expense of meaningful conversation.
But especially the bots. Holy crap the bots were making it such a headache. The same comment slightly adjusted then posted over and over as replies to top comments for karma farming. The same stolen repost on 20 slightly similar subreddits and it doesn’t really belong on half of them. Not that Lemmy would be immune to this if it were as big as Reddit but sheesh I wish Reddit cared about the quality of content. They’re fine with whatever keeps people coming back and I guess that kind of content appeals to the most people.
There are big rubber bands specifically meant to go on your trash bin to hold the bag in place, I bought mine from Walmart or Target I believe.
