  • You’re right and it’s that sort of stuff that people like you and me will deal with and figure out and move on but unfortunately it’s not the case with regular people. That’s why I never recommend that sorry if stuff to ‘normies’ ie. My mom. Instead I set them up with the lesser of evils that will give them convenience and make them more likely to trust me in the future. That way, if I ever REALLY need them to move on from something they will be more likely to just listen to me and not fight me about it. I just got a couple of friends to switch over to Firefox even though they were chrome fans, all because I have years of goodwill. Ported their bookmarks and got them ublock and they barely even notice a difference.

Sorta what they sound like. They’re privately owned and hosted by third party people. You have to download their own launcher to play but most are pretty much free.

Check out ascension. It’s wow but classless, you have a couple servers, one where you choose from 3 random abilities when you level up and another where you get more leeway in the abilities you chose. It’s a really interesting way to play wow.

  • Besides a bunch of gaming and weeb ones I usually browsed trending and would gravitate toward the classics. Ask reddit, wtf, piracy, personal finance, lifeprotips, malefashionadvise, cool guides, the various explain like I’m 5 type subs, out of the loop. Etc. The trick is in the comments. Even in gaming subs people would have conversations and go on tangents in the comments with interesting facts or statements. I always make an effort to take a step forward whenever I read something I feel is interesting. For example, if someone mentions the Reynolds pamphlets in their comment about Alexander Hamilton. I’ll go ahead and Google what they are and give it a read. There’s always something you could learn even if it’s tangentially related. Even if it’s just the sentence structure or formating of a long comment, the way the camera or sound is done in a movie or show, someone’s mannerisms as they’re talking to you. It’s about wanting that knowledge.

I’m not a particularly smart person but my family and friends think I am just because I know a bit of everything. Im just a naturally curious person that likes to learn.
