It’s great when you’re young and have the spare time and energy on such things.
I mainly use the external hardware as a workaround for unwanted noise from the pc. It bothers me to no end to hear the mouse cursor scream into my headphone/speakers.
I use an external usb dac/amp to handle all my audio switching and has been working flawlessly on debian. Could that be an option for you?

Lucky. I have collected a fair bit of audio gear that use very frequently. The dongles dislodge from the charging port too easily to be useful. I do use BT dac/amps but most of the time I’m in too much of a hurry to bother and I rely on the jack almost entirely.
We really need to make investing in property less lucrative than other means.
I’ve never had the energy to spend on something that won’t change the past. Just learn from it so you don’t end up in the same situation going forward.

Linux mostly works. It’s both fun and frustrating learning how to operate it. There’s only a couple things I can’t get to work on Linux which is annoying, but much less annoying than having to deal with MS.

I agree whole heartedly. We spend too much time in our own heads. And most humans today have never experienced the wild. I mean the true wild, where you most certainly will die by the environment or animal if you’re not careful. You don’t need to go that far outside our fence to gain the benefits of connection but it’s an experience that is both humbling and healing.
Hydration, sleep, proper nutrition, limited sun, and a bit of a cream/oil/barrier for those with naturally dryer skin is important. Stay away from things that cause you inflammation, like smoking, alcohol, and drugs, that cortisol will age you so fast.
