I honestly think there’s a gray area here and it’s worth talking to a lawyer if anything. There are certainly some protections for peoples under 40. Being denied a promotion because you’re “too young” is certainly a protection. The catch is you have to prove it.
This case is easy to prove though if there are any laws over this.
Edit: but now that I think about it, this is only really a protection if you’re already hired at the place. If you just slam the door on people before they can get in, discrimination seems to be legal.
Hey now, dontcha know they mark up prices if you pay with insurance? It’s how the drug companies get even more money!
If you quit your job, the medication might actually be only $4k!

I can’t wait for when medical implants require a subscription so that I can routinely pay to live a normal life!
/s because it seems like it’s still needed even if it feels obvious
You’re going to get numbers all over the place lol.
I’m $70 for a gig up and down. My parents are $150 for 150mb down and either 15mb or 25mb up. They also have a 1 gig soft cap before getting throttled.
Yeah, another way I’ve heard it phrased is comments are for explaining why you did things a certain way, not for explaining what it’s doing.
What have you done to me, I’m in this position myself too because of the picture.
I’m late to the Nix party. I do the bare minimum just for my at home media server. I guess it’s a good time to get caught up on my Linux knowledge again.
It truly, truly, truly depends where you live.
In my neck of the woods, I can get 1.5 gigs for $85usd a month. In the same state, in my “small” home town (population 10k), you’d be lucky to find 30mbs for less than $135 a month.
How do you remove the paywall from the article? Just copy the URL of the article and provide it to archive.today, and that website just bypassed the paywall? How do they manage to bypass it? O.o
A lot of posts here have given out wonderful and helpful ideas! I can’t provide any more on top of this, but I want to speak to this:
How long to grow a community
However long it takes. Some communities never take off, some communities that seem obscure will sometimes propel to popularity. However long you keep at it is 100% completely up to you! As long as you are finding some fulfilling or enjoyment out of it. You don’t owe anybody anything in this regard. If you are tired or stressed from it, there is nothing wrong with dropping the community you tried to grow. You tried to start something, and that is commendable in itself.
With that said, I enjoy geocaching every few months or so when I look into it! Unfortunately there aren’t that many caches near me. I’ll subscribe and maybe make a few caches of my own!
I’m kind of surprised nobody said Kia (and for that matter, Hyundai) yet?
JD Power has ranked Kia in the top 3 in dependability for the past few years and gave them the #1 spot last year. They also have a 10yr/100k mile warranty so theoretically they’ll survive for a very long time.
They do have a bad wrap with the car thefts going on, but that issue is addressed with their newer models. I do suppose though that to a dumb “thrill seeker” that doesn’t mean you’re immune to attempted thefts.
I have ADHD and I’ll often find myself spending hours trying to find a fix, finally read the docs, get distracted, go back to finding a fix without the docs, remember that I was in the middle of reading a docs, and repeat
I honestly only watch them when I’m super bored or high in bed when I want quick laughs. But honestly, the same question can be asked of people who scroll on Facebook, lemmy, or Reddit hours on end
Oh yeah I was only posting dumb comments for content for lemmy. The issue is definitely because YouTube is pushing them front and center on the home screen of the app.
I’ve never actually searched for shorts either; I only ever watch my shorts via clicking on the “Shorts” link at the bottom of the app.
I’m sorry guys, I actually watch the YouTube Shorts so Google pushing them into more people is my fault. I just don’t care to download Tik Tok and have yet another app. 😭
Didn’t Pornhub see a non-insignificant rise in Linux as well? I wonder how much the steam deck accounted for that as well 😅
