Absolutely. I don’t know much about the situation but it seems like the owner had some personal issues and just went radio silent on everyone up until someone made the new instance. The whole situation was definitely mishandled

As someone else said, feddit.de is dead and has been superseded by feddit.org. The original instance has unfortunately been abandoned by its owner.
Not just privacy, mental health too
Im not as active in the movie industry anymore but I always liked Blackmagic. They’re making Davinci Resolve, a really good video editor. Really generous free tier, pro version is a one-time purchase.
They’re also making affordable cinema cameras. Both of these products really shook up the industry a few years back.
I build my NAS years ago and the drives are still doing fine. I can’t wait though to upgrade that thing to SSDs. This thing is loud and sucks a lot of power right now.
Probably already installed. That would at least explain the high resource usage of chrome
Facebookification should be a term. I think every platform that tries to grow at any cost will attract a certain audience that will ultimately make the platform less desirable. Like those spamming pins in facebook comments to get updates on the post instead of turning on updates in a context menu.
I love this old soviet stuff. I’ve got an old Hasselblad camera clone from the Soviet Union. That thing is heavy as fuck and the metal shutter looks and sounds like you’re slamming a garage door. Operating this camera feels like riding a rusty bike on a muddy road and yet the pictures it takes are very decent.
Edit: Here’s a video of the shutter that I took ages ago. Also note how it jerks around the whole camera body despite me holding onto it.
