If “getting rid of the USA” is all you think the is to life, might I suggest getting one?

There are four options for American voters: vote red, vote blue, vote third party, or don’t vote at all.
Voting red is just bad. I highly doubt that the Gaza situation would get any better if Trump gets in, but I know for a fact that a lot of things will get much worse.
Voting third party is a wasted effort. Sure, every sane person would prefer different people to run America, but the the shit fptp system means they’ll never get any traction. In another election voting third party could be worth it, since a third party might slowly get more support, but not this one.
Not voting is just pointless. That’s just choosing to not impact anything.
That only leaves voting blue. It’s not great, but it’s the only option left.
Don’t fully trust the translations. There are some that are pretty good, but none are exactly perfect. You can get the original language and wording (or the closest we have) with a quick Google, so use that if you ever think the translation is borderline.
I’m sure they will, until they realize why it’s a good idea to keep the humans.
“I’m a software engineer, not a printer whisperer”
nobody here is persecuting religion
proceeds to generalize all religious people as the worst of religion
Most religious people do acknowledge all the stuff you’re talking about, and agree with you on how terrible they are. Most of the time when you meet a religious person, you won’t think there’s anything different until you ask them.
Supporting communism’s ideas, while still fairly condemning terrible things done by historical attempts at implementing it.
No
To clear definitions, at least for me"tankies" are a subset of communists, who praises/defends the actions of all/most communist states far more than similar actions from capitalist states. The difference between communists and tankies is a bias in favor of communist states when looking at things like human rights violations. Very few people will self identify as a tankie, since it’s hard to see your own bias.
I feel like a few might see a felony conviction as a “straw that broke the camel’s back”
No, it’s a question of volume. Before reddit turned to shit, it used to work the same way, but niche communities could still thrive because there were enough people. Lemmy will be able to hold more communities as more people join
That’s not a trivial thing, that’s a war crime
Why do we need custom backgrounds for our phones and computers? That’s free space that could be ads. Especially good if clicking/tapping on the background causes a full screen, unclosable, unskippable ad. Because a misclick is definitely showing interest in the product.
Browser load times. Slow that down a bit, and you’ve got enough time to pop an ad in between every page load.

Conceptually useful bots (even if they aren’t always great) like those two I approve of. You can easily ignore them, but they’re there for when you want them.
The meme bots that were on reddit like grond we could do without. They were fun at the time, but I’m glad we don’t have them here.
Probably something using dihydrogen monoxide as a solvent for a mixture of organic compounds
The main idea of the fediverse is that there is one standard (eg. lemmy), with many servers running a copy of that standard with their own settings (instances). These instances all interact in a way that it seems to the user like a single server (federation). At times the owners of each instance will want to block other instances (defederation).
If they cheat and find an answer online, they’ve proved they can use resources available to them to find the answer and recreate it. Honestly I don’t see a practical difference between that and knowing the answer in a closed book setting.
In my (small) experience, people can often be addicted to a specific game rather than to gaming in general. Especially with how games these days are designed to be as addicting as possible because MONEY. A big tell for this kind of addiction is an inability/unwillingness to try new games, even if they’re in a similar genre.
I don’t think you realize how rigged against 3rd parties those elections are, and have been from the very start
