“old” & “late 90s” = Go straight to hell, young’un!

If it truly is only an hour of someone’s time, then I’d much rather they made that insignificant amount less profit, but did the work to make our experience better.
I keep multiple versions in the same library. I use Emby, and, as long as my naming is good, I get one listing for each movie, and the ability to select which version to watch.
You just reminded me of something I saw once, that I’d love to find. It was some sketch comedy show, and the sketch was “Every episode of Star Trek”. It was hysterical.
Possibly, but I’d think there’s an equal chance that it interests new customers. I’d have to see data proving either way.
But it’s still ridiculous to be so concerned about the corporation that made a kabillion dollars in profit last year. If they’re so go at their business that they can make those kinds of profits, one leaked image is not a problem.
Maybe.
Won’t someone think of the corporations?!
I think it’s actually the ADA that requires them, now that I think about it, but I know in commercial buildings there are requirements for size and location of mirrors in bathrooms (maybe only if you choose to install them).
How do they do that? IIRC, mirrors are required per building codes?
Or watch hockey for the skating?
As a person who knows nothing about web development, can you not load the pages in smaller chunks, so that the first screen or two worth of stuff loads fast and the rest could load while you are looking at it. That way, to the user, it appears to load quickly enough to keep them from leaving?
So all they do is remove some noise for many steps in a row until a clear image emerges.
So it’s like Mark Twain? said, writing is easy, all you do is write everything down, then cross out all the wrong words. Or something to that effect.
Seems like a solution in search of a problem.
Total time spent between all of the discussion, hand-wringing, programming, and reporting, this has got to be be pretty high on the list of colossal time-wasters.
Not necessarily. When a situation is “in flux” it is changing or unstable.
Except for “in flux”, as a description of a state of being
Somebody at some level is definitely thinking that way.
Why open more registers when you can push people towards self-checkour? As a retail manager you should be trying to get your customers to work for you for free whenever possible.
That ceiling is supposed to be that way. The insulation is on top of the roof deck, and the lack of a suspended ceiling gives it a more open feel. That’s why they painted all of the roof structure white (it also allows them to use less power for lighting). Walmart has a lot of problems, but store design isn’t one (although retail layout is, IMO).
FLAC or some other lossless format is better.
