If you are watching a rom-com about some unrealistic storybook relationship, why wouldn’t you want to watch these people in an equally unrealistic financial situation. People watch them to escape reality, not watch more of it.

I have yet to meet a person who gives a shit about AI. I have yet to meet a person who has intentionally used AI. It’s all marketing bs and a way to mine our data.
I guess what I am saying is it was organic. Cyberpunk and many other games that are hyped are hyped because of marketing campaigns done by the the studio. People get the game, it sucks, and people are mad.
This game just existed, the community decided it was awesome and got their friends to get in on it and so on. It blew up because it was fun to play and the the devs weren’t shitbags. The devs didn’t expect it to blow up the way it did, thats why the servers sploded.
This game blew up organically, due to players experience. I am still having a blast
I bet you $20 he made that comment either from his android phone or from chrome on a Windows PC. OH NO, I suddenly care about my gaming history being collected by Sony. You dont even have to install 3rd party software, it is an in-game link. No standalone launcher like most games nowadays.
At least the hype train was built on its merit and not an ad campaign.
I signed into an old PSN account when I first downloaded the game near launch. It is in game. No launcher. I signed in once and forgot about it until right now. Not really a big deal. If your worried about security make some bogus email up and make an account that way. But other than signing in one time it hasn’t been a deal. 🤷♂️
The Ol’ hivemind. I type this will dropping in to kill some bug hives.
Same thing…
You passing out from huffing on a vape is your own, wierd, unique reaction to nicotine due to your own misuse. I can pass out if I huff a glass of water and that would likely kill me. You can slam 20 energy drinks and make your heart explode, you can eat too much food and die, you can drink too much alcohol and get alcohol poisoning. That is all equivalent to someone who apparently has zero nicotine tolerance taking rips on a vape and being mad they got light headed. That is your own fault. That being said, I am totally down with legal weed and illegal nicotine, however, weed impairs your judgment for hours, nicotine only makes you a bit light headed for a minute, and only if you don’t have a tolerance. I say this as I rip my 12% vape with zero effect.
I am an American all aboard the “America has some serious issues” wagon, but dude not wearing ear protection was doing so against every single rule. If he got caught by the wrong person him and his boss would be in deep shit. Everything else you said is pretty accurate though. At least for big cities, the type of place tourists go. Just remember 90% of the country is not there. You visited the worst places in the country. It’s still bad though. It is a dog eat dog country and very little help for the needy. The help that there is takes so many hoops to jump through that some people with any problems just can’t do it and they don’t have any advocates.
They don’t need a justification. It is just capitalism. The second it becomes profitable to develop and implement an AI to replace a human, it will be done. And half the country/world will be rooting for them saying “yeah, go capitalism!”
I’ll wait for the HOT cashier. You know the one… the one that’s still wet from the last hose down.
Can we declare Healthcare a utility?
The expanse goes into some interesting generational changes between people who live on earth, Mars, and in the asteroid belt. Belters are tall and scrawny and when they go to earth they can’t stand and the gravity crushes their bones, extremely painful. The only way they can be there comfortably is in water. I’d imagine different areas with different "weather " would have different types of adaptations and travel wouldn’t be as common/easy.
Etc…
As an also actual living human, I rent strictly to seniors, our rent is $4-500 cheaper than anything else comparable in town because they live on fixed income and I am a paramedic/firefighter that works 3 jobs to survive. I am not one of the scumbags (I don’t think?) I don’t make much of a profit because I refuse to raise the rent on a bunch of widowed old ladies living on fixed incomes and I put my resources back into the units to maintain or improve their living conditions. Yeah, it increases the property value. So I’m not going to pretend it’s pure charity, it is a business. But I am not gouging my tenants while I very much can during the housing shortage like every other landlord in my small town.
If I gave it away it would just be bought up by the same monopoly that owns every other complex in my town. He has offered me 3 times what I paid and I refused to sell. Not because I wouldn’t LOVE the money, but because the tenants that are pretty much family, that have watched my kids grow up, that have gone to my wedding, would all immediately be out on their ass.
This is true actually. But I had to work late because I accidentally got some on the wall.
I have found the gen xers are the WORST at texting and writing in general. At least the ones I know.
