27, he/him. interested in all things tech, music production, and gaming. i write songs your girlfriend would probably listen to.
I used to occasionally watch reruns on Fox when I was a kid, but I never have taken the time to watch it fully like this. It’s fun trying to predict what year the episodes came out by the pop culture references :)
Right now, I think Season 4 came out in 1994. Haven’t looked it up and won’t until I finish watching the season.
I just watched Mr. Plow!!! Loved the story between Homer and Barney and found it hilarious that Marge wanted Homer to keep the jacket on in bed
I’m totally with you. I feel as lemmy develops, we’ll start to get more QoL. I’ve been having the same issue with not being able to post comments on random posts, and I have my own self hosted instance. I think it has something to do with the instance the content is hosted on being overloaded? Not sure how the backend works, truly.
What would also be kinda neat, is if I could eventually transfer my instance over to a kbin instance. I quite like the idea of being able to track my thoughts and experiences via microblogging, and I’m not sure if I want to have a seperate mastodon account for that.
Homer’s Triple Bypass. Got it. I’m making a list of episodes to pay extra attention to, as recommended by ya’all here on lemmy. Great recommendations so far.
haha I’m gonna have to remember this one when I get to season 8. Thanks for sharing!!
I’m all for this bit. How dare they misconstrue the vast complexities of a xylophone?
Feels like thats what a lot of people are experiencing right now. Super fun stuff!
Tbh I haven’t watched much either. I just hopped on Disney+ this morning, hit play on the first episode available, and I haven’t turned it off since. I like that this show has a lot of heart and family values, something I don’t really see in TV today without being completely on the nose.
Mine was good! Spent the week working my first few shifts with my new raise in effect. Felt good to be doing the same job but making more money! This weekend I was pulling my hair out trying to get my Lemmy instance set up but I got it done and have been spending my Sunday enjoying it! Overall, pretty successful week. Can’t wait for my next paycheck.
I used to enjoy a smooth vodka lemonade, but more recently, I’ve just been enjoying either a Corona Extra or Blue Moon beer. I find that with hard liquor I just always wake up sick no matter how little I drink.
Ez, just ask ChatGPT, bruh!
That sounds to be the most attractive way to fit into the fediverse the way it’s set up right now. I really like how kbin has support for microblogging and link aggregation however I find it hard to interoperate between different platforms like you can on lemmy/mastodon.
Once a platform nails all of this, I feel like that will be the thing to use in terms of a “master account to rule them all” type deal. That’s what I want anyway >:)
Oh yes definitely. The exiting part isn’t when it happens, but how it happens ;)
Hm, that’s very interesting. I wonder if the platforms will build upon each other with future updates or if they’ll continue to remain “seperate” in terms of formatting and QoL. Very interested in the future of cross platform federation accounts.
Been pounding my head against the desk for the last TWO DAYS trying to get everything to work. Then you came along and solved all of my problems and it only took me 10 minutes to set up (mostly due to waiting on DNS to flush!)
THANK YOU SO MUCH for creating this, and PLEASE continue to maintain! I will gib coffees if need be along the way!!
I tried my best to use mastodon as a platform to post to lemmy/kbin but ran into a major problem: nested comments get lost to the ether, and there’s no way for you to reply to them using the same account.
Because of this, and basically this alone, I decided to forfeit mastodon all together and opt for a self hosted lemmy instance. I just got it set up and running this evening and so far, I’m not looking back.
Might set up another mastodon instance later, but that’s if I start to miss it.
I’m another worshipper of ubergeek’s script! Literally went from pounding my head against my desk to setting up my brand new instance where basically everything worked!
After a looooong day of trial and error and basically learning all of this from scratch, I am happy to say I have finally gotten my own instance up and running!
HUGE credits goes to @ubergeek77@lemmy.ubergeek77.chat for creating a script to install Lemmy in just a few simply commands. Definitely reccomend checking out his work if you’re brand new to all of this: https://lemmy.world/post/249889
Although I ended up taking the “easy way out”, I do want to take a moment to thank all of you for taking the time to comment and contribute time to help me sort out this problem. This is such a warm and welcoming communtiy and I really appreciate it. Cheers from SoCal!
I remember being a small child posting to forums I had no business posting to, asking obnoxious questions about building websites or talking in IRC.
I remember always expecting a response that wasn’t very happy with me. You have to start somewhere right?
