I still never understood what Cuba actually did that makes the US sanction them to this day. As far as I can tell they were a neutral country actually leaning slightly in favour of the US right up until they were suddenly branded communist (in the soviet sense) and more or less pushed into Russias arms.
I see it as trying to combat the dystopia where not only is our data scraped but now every single thing we write, draw or film is fed into an AI that will ultimately be used to create huge amounts of wealth for very few, essentially monetizing our very existence online in a way thats entierly unavoidable and without consent.
In addition its entierly one way, google and others can grab as much of our data as they want while most of us would have an extremely hard time even getting granted a freedom of information request about ourselves, let alone grabbing a similar amount of data about those same corporations.
You know every time I think I understand enough about Linux to consider moving over an innocent post like this sets me back to square one.
Eh pathfinder 2e is definetaly better than D&D but 1e is honestly really harsh in terms of character builds.

On one hand people can be jerks, on the other hand there definetaly is a trend of releasing broken games with a ‘patch it later’ mentality.

Wasn’t there a social media website that did a massive bot purge a while ago and most influencers found out that like 90+% of their audiences were actually bots anyway? sounds like this is just a logical conclusion and the rest of us can get on with our lives while bots entertain bots.

As a windows user who’s been doing some research and looking to switch this is really the post I needed to see. I know everyone seems to have their favourite distro and means well when suggesting them but its nice to have someone point out a distinct beginner friendly one with no caveats.
I figured its about as relevant as anything else when it comes to a company as rich as microsoft, they could send a hit squad round to shoot your dad and leave a signed confession and still probably win the case through sheer weight of money.

I think that’s kind of the point though, we could meet space traveling aliens and deem them non sapient beings without emotions using the same logic we apply to animals because there’s no empirical way to prove that any creature isn’t just the sapience equivelent of a chinese room.
to be fair plenty of older games hold up today in terms of gameplay if you don’t mind dated graphics (or if the game uses a timeless visual style). There are a few that I’d totally pay full price for a re-release simply because its hard to get them to run on modern systems.
One way or another I’m moving to Linux for my next PC. but damn I finally think I understand enough to decide Debian would be a good ‘it just works’ distro and then Linux users out the woodwork telling me its actually a pain in the ass and to use XYZ (all disagreeing) distros instead. I’m like 90% sure its going to be Debian, Ubuntu or Mint but beyond that its more uncertain than the inside of a black hole.
