Not sure I understand why train games are on topic because they’re open source but an open source desktop icon isn’t.

The difference between how 80 F feels at 65% humidity vs 45% humidity is ridiculous. Lower humidity also makes cooling yourself by misting or damp cloths a lot more effective, because it will evaporate quicker.
Thinking Joe Biden sucks because he’s enabling genocide against Palestinians is a stance held by approximately zero Nazis. It’s a stance held by a lot of queer people.
If you have to chain together a bunch bad faith assumptions to call someone a Nazi, it’s time to cool it. Every queer person isn’t going to have your exact politics, it doesn’t mean they’re a fucking Nazi or faking being queer online. Figure out a way to be okay with that, because the alternative is that you’re going around accusing every queer person whose politics you dislike of being a Nazi.
Did you read the instance guidelines? Because that’s pretty clearly incompatible.
Okay, Ada had clearly said she doesn’t think that’s the case and you’ve offered zero proof other than random accusations, so I don’t think there’s any productive conversation to be had here.
You are starting from a bad faith assumption and demanding everyone else do the same. The result is that queer people who don’t like Joe Biden (for very understandable reasons) can’t have any space to talk about that without being called propaganda and right wing trolls. You don’t seem to want the content to exist at all, rather than looking for specific evidence that this user or mod team is part of a right wing effort.
Someone isn’t evil because they think Joe Biden is enabling genocide and that he sucks, Jesus. Y’all need to learn to be okay with other queer people not having your exact politics. Aim that kind of rhetoric and energy at people that are actually bigoted instead of just tearing down other queer people.
Ada said she was dealing with insults to other users, I think she’d remember to mention transphobic trolling on the part of the mods.
If you’re not going to bother reading or responding to my criticism of the reach you had to go through to arrive at ‘anti-Biden = transphobic’, then I have no reason to continue the conversation.
Maybe you could link and report some of the transphobic trolling? That would speed along its removal. All the links I saw just had political memes.
2: the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person
This post is propaganda, time to take it down, your rules not mine 🤷♂️
Memes from someone whose takes you don’t like isn’t the same thing as propaganda and it certainly doesn’t make the community transphobic. If you can’t live with seeing it, block it. There is real, honest to god, paid for with billionaire cash political propaganda targeting trans people out there, and that community ain’t it.
Have you tried blocking the community instead of interacting with it? There’s plenty of communities I block because I think they’re dumb and annoying, or because the moderation team is a train wreck.
“It’s transphobic to think Joe Biden is a genocide enabling asshole because that means you support not voting for him which means you support Trump getting elected which means you support transphobic policies and this should be banned from Blahaj” is a series of assumptions built on assumptions, most of which are bad faith and work backwards from wanting the community banned. Demanding a trans admin ban them for transphobia when what you want them banned for is bad politics is tasteless at best, and comes off as manipulative.
Before anyone gets a bug up their ass about if I vote blue enough, I live in a large city in California. We are more likely to see the sun explode than for my elector to vote for anyone other than a Democrat, which I think is ultimately the least bad option that is likely to happen between now and November (but is still a bad system because we need ranked choice).
I often have nightmares (yay PTSD!), the last bad one I had was about a week ago. It was about my sister being scared and me not being able to get in contact with her or help her. My husband woke me up 3 different times from that one because I’d keep yelling in my sleep, which happens at least a couple of times a month and sometimes a few times a week.
I’ve been in therapy and am on meds, there’s just not a magic bullet unfortunately.
I feel like the cursed inverse of this is The Orville, where they’re divorced and then drama and jokes about being divorced is half the show. It was in what I saw of season 1 anyway, it was so relentless I couldn’t stand another minute of it.
You aren’t in their heads and you have no idea why they’re vaping. If every teen in Germany smokes (doubtful), proportionally teens who have a mental illness will smoke more and be more likely to become addicted, not only because they’re smoking more but because of the brain chemistry at work leading them to smoke to begin with. Self medication isn’t an exaggeration, nicotine acts similarly to MAOIs. It’s a shitty medication substitute.
Kids vaping is often a mental health problem, not a criminal problem. Nicotine is used by people with untreated mental illness to self medicate, and as long as you have kids without adequate access to mental health care you’re going to have kids vaping. From what I can find something like 1/3rd of people who need mental health services in Canada haven’t got the care they needed in the past year. That’s a lot of kids.
Criminalizing selling but not possession is a very basic way of preventing the criminalization of addiction. Throwing a kid with untreated or badly controlled ADHD into juvie, or fining them, or whatever punishment you’re imagining here, is basically the worst way to deal with addiction.
Because I’m sure someone will misconstrue this as me saying it’s okay for kids to vape: it’s not, that’s why they need mental health services, even if it’s ‘only’ for addiction. Criminalizing them doesn’t help them.
The area and time I grew up in had zero non-English classes until high school! Literally just skipping the most beneficial periods of language learning. It was only required that we take 1 year of a foreign language to graduate, and that’s not really enough time to be proficient (or it wasn’t the way we were taught, anyway).
I’ve been casually learning Spanish for the past few years, and doing it on your own as an adult without paying for courses is hard, especially if your native language is in a different language family. I can definitely understand why people who emerge from the school system monolingual just stay that way.
Software design really needs to take a leaf out of game design’s book and let you change key binds. I suspect the only reason they don’t is because it would make troubleshooting more complicated.
I’d call the fire department to ask them to come out and make sure that there’s not anything slow burning that’s hidden in the walls. Be sure to mention two separate smoke detectors have been going off. Even if that’s not what it is they’ll be fine with coming out to check.
If you let your cat outside in the Americas (or anywhere cats haven’t lived for thousands of years) unsupervised I’m going to assume one of the following is true: you don’t care if your cat dies, and/or you don’t care about wildlife. Even if you live in a place with zero predators, why the hell are you trusting a CAT with road safety?
Saying this as someone who grew up with parents that let our cats live (and die, a lot) that way. And as someone who has seen two friends lose cats to coyotes in the past year. And also interrupted an attack on someone’s pet by a coyote. It’s been a bad fucking year here for coyotes.
