Escape from New York meets Ghost in the Machine.
I think it’s a shame it’ll be a month late as compared to the in-universe significant august 2023 event, but that’s fine.
I think it looks way more cinematic than the base game. I’m not sure how much were going to be feeling that, especially since that runs the risk of railroading players and removing our freedom.
Still, I am stoked.
Edit: Stolen from plebbit
TL;DR: This is not a DLC. This is Cyberpunk 2.0.
- virtually every system of the main game has been changed and/or updated
- police system is completely reworked with multiple tiers of NCPD/mercs chasing you down in vehicles according to your wanted level, apparently on level 5 maxtac will chase you down and it will be some sort of bossfight against them (source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riK1i8lQwRM&t=511s)
- perks and skills have been completely overhauled, no longer simple passive stat boosts, much more active abilities like different melee finishers, a dash, or the ability to deflect bullets with melee weapons
- an entirely new 6th skill tree that uses a different type of skill points (relic points) that will be used to add new abilities to your cyberware
- the difficulty curve is reworked/rebalanced
- the loot tiers are reworked
- archetypes of enemies have been redone for more variety in combat encounters
- installing cyberware now has an effect on your body and you cant install too much or else you will go cyberpsycho (no idea what that looks like in game)
- installing cyberware now has a first person cutscene added to it, just like in the prologue at Vik’s clinic
- you can now “attune” cyberware to one of your attributes, making it more efficient if you have invested in that attribute; example here optical camo is attuned to the “cool” attribute: https://i.imgur.com/1UI9SEX.png
- armor is no longer tied to clothing, it instead tied to your cybernetics
- vehicle combat is added to the game, you can even use your katana on your bike
- you will be able to hack vehicles, similar to the Watch Dogs games
- vehicles are no longer bought from fixers, but bought through a website set up by wakako
- some vehicles have guns installed on them (machine guns, rocket launchers)
- new type of infinitely replayable/repeatable missions are being added where you need to steal certain vehicles marked on your map
- new activity introduced “airdrops”, loot caches that drop randomly on the map that you can fight over and retrieve for yourself
- tons of new random events/activities are added to make the world feel more alive, like car chases and gang fights
Really hyped for this, while they fucked up the innitial launch of the maine game they constantly improved it over the past few years, ive completet it a few month ago and it honestly was one of my favorite Games ever
Man, I really love the game, and the trailer was good too. Idris Elba is a phenomenal actor, I hope he pulled the acting for a video game off.
Kinda bummed though that there were no news for the alleged patch 1.7 that should arrive with the dlc.
Apparently this expansion is effectively a 2.0 release that redos pretty much every core system in the game, from traits to police chases to perks, etc.
source for my hopium, plz?
I loved the base game pretty much from launch and thought it was a masterpiece, glad to see the trailer looks so good. Very excited.
Wonder how they will handle the cure thing.
On one hand, it will be lame if it’s just bait for V. Like, really, really, really lame.
On another, if V actually finds a cure then that’s more interesting, but it means that they will need to include a new ending for the base game.
According to random rumors on plebbit, this should open a new ending to the base game. Take with a heap of salt.
I’m going to replay it because the main storyline has a false sense of urgency.

You are doing the lord’s work
I’ll definitely be getting it, because I’d love more 2077 content. But as for “more cinematic”, that was one of the things that disappointed me about the main game was that it had such a specific story in mind. I mean overall it’s an enjoyable story, I was just hoping for a game that let you make up your own. I haven’t really played many crpgs (far more ttrpgs) so maybe that’s just not a thing? Or just less popular maybe? Idk lol. Still one of my favorite games ever.
I had this game on launch and I’ve never been so disappointed by a game. Curious if after all the updates and this expansion if it will be worth giving a try again.
I waited until the first big patch to pick it up, but I definitely really enjoyed it overall. By that point I knew it wasn’t going to be GTA: Cyberpunk and just enjoyed the world and story for what it was.
I do wish the world was a little more interactive, but despite that it can be really fun to just wander around and get lost in it.
They can change systems but the story can’t change much.
There is a vibrant modding scene on Nexus for the game on PC. Lots of interesting mods to change the play experience. I feel the game will forever be solid but also somewhat disappointing. It had the potential to be so much more and isn’t at the level of The Witcher 3.
Seems like this would start before “meet Hanako at Embers,” not after. V isn’t very alive in some of the game’s endings.
I used to have no interest in pixel-style games but in the past few years I’ve grown to really like them. I’ll try and post some of my favorites below with a quick synopsis to see if it’s something you may like. These are really in no particular order. As you can see, I really like the building/colony management games. I hope to delve into other genres at some point when they interest me.
Also, a lot will be in early access but I’ll note when there hasn’t been updates for a while.
Building/colony simulation
- Cult of the Lamb - you play an endearing and cute lamb that needs to start a cult in order to gain favor and allow your colony to thrive. You do this by going through rogue-lite dungeon levels and defeating enemies/bosses to recruit more followers and continue the story campaign. Includes some mini-games like fishing and a card game and I’m sure more. They just released a big update that I have yet to check out.
- Dwarf Fortress - One of the most complex colony simulators to date. You take the good with the bad. The UI has seen improvements in their recent Steam release but it’s still, at least in my opinion, not the most intuitive thing. If you are into this genre of game, though, you absolutely need to check this out and put in the time to learn the systems. You start the game by having it simulate your world’s history given some seed data. After it’s done, you can view every single action taken to see how the world got to this point (even seemingly useless stuff like Goblin Terry bought a tavern in Randomtown or whatever). Don’t sleep on it!
- RimWorld - heavily inspired by Dwarf Fortress, it’s basically that but in a sci-fi setting instead of a medieval one. While the interface by default is, in my opinion, better than Dwarf Fortress’s, it still requires quite a time-sink to get accustomed to. There are an incredible amount of mods on the Steam workshop that makes the variability and replayability seemingly endless.
- Clanfolk - RimWorld style game based in old Irish lore. Still in early stages but their testing branch is very frequently updated.
- Stardeus - Think RimWorld except you’re an AI on a broken down ship with a bunch of travelers in stasis. You need to repair the ship, get the systems working again, and improve everything over time. The developer is insanely active, with seemingly daily updates. For a while they were streaming all of their development on Twitch. I don’t know if they’re still doing it, but, it doesn’t matter; he’s still updating the game at a ridiculous rate. It has full modding support as well but there are far less of them at the moment since the game is in early access and much newer.
- Songs of Syx - Alright, this game is kind of nuts. Instead of managing one colony like in Dwarf Fortress and RimWorld, your goal is to manage a large part of the rendered world. It has a lot of the same building elements as the other games but takes it to another level. Also, it’s medieval style and has magic. You really should not sleep on this if this sounds interesting. Obligatory warning: yes, it has a massive learning curve and things aren’t well documented. There are some good guides on YouTube, though.
- Oxygen Not Included - Similar to RimWorld systems and mechanics wise with a completely different look and feel. It’s too complicated for me right now to look into much but I need to mention it as it’s insanely popular.
- Core Keeper - A completely different game this time. In this, you actually control a single character in top-down view. There are multiple different biomes that you move on from by defeating bosses. It’s like Stardew Valley with much more focus on combat and it takes place underground.
- Keplerth - I’ll be honest, I couldn’t get into it, but, I’ve seen posts here and there about people loving it so I thought I’d just include it in the list.
- Necesse - Again, haven’t played it much, but, if you know about the game Terraria it seemingly tries to improve on those systems.
- Realms of Magic - In the same vein as the previous two, but, my favored one. It has basic story elements, complex building and crafting, and a pretty cool map system. If the Terraria-style game looks nice to you but you want more, check this out.
- PixARK - Officially licensed pixel style ARK: Survival Evolved clone. It feels a lot easier and I enjoy it more. The issue I have with it is that updates got really slow for a while. They seemed to have picked up again recently so maybe it was just a temporary thing, not sure. Quickly looking at the patch notes, though, there doesn’t seem to be many significant updates lately (if at all).
Metroidvania style
- Infernax - From the Steam page: Infernax is the adventures of a great knight who returns to his homeland only to find it plagued with unholy magic. Uncover the mysteries of the curse and face the consequences of your actions.
- Blasphemous - A super dark art style and challenging combat. You play some fucked up angel type thing that’s basically on a good-guy crusade. Fight evil, etc. I can’t do this justice though, it’s legitimately very impressive. A sequel was recently announced.
Dungeon-crawling ARPG
- Chronicon - A bunch of really cool classes and tight combat systems makes this one a favorite.
- The Slormancer - Really awesome (and intuitive) builds with a great art style. You can upgrade pretty much any of the systems in the game (think magic types, health, etc), making it really easy and fun to try out different builds.
I think you accidentally posted in the wrong thread :-)
Yeah, I deleted it right away. Sorry, I was actually in the right thread when posting it but it somehow changed. No idea how that happened but definitely a bug.
Is it not deleted on your instance?
Still visible when I browse through here: https://feddit.dk/comment/68897
So definitely a bug :-)
Bring it on, need to build up on those ~500 hours.
Is Cyberpunk worth playing on Series X these days? I know PC is the best way to play, but I’m not gonna be able to update my graphics card any time soon. I don’t know if I should wait until I’m able to upgrade, or just go ahead and play on console.
Far and beyond a great experience.
Played through two and a half times on my Series X and it looks beautiful. The Series X is a powerful console, so you’re still experiencing it the best way it can possibly be on console. The game is totally stable now and you’re doing yourself a disservice by holding off.
It even works like a charm on Series S, so Series X will be beautiful. It’s only last gen with their obsolete CPU’s and HDDs that don’t work well.
