Back in the '90s everything messed up was “gay.” The teacher won’t let you turn in late homework, that’s gay. Recess was cut short by a fire alarm, so gay.
I thought we’d moved past that immaturity.
Woke is the exact same criticism the right has had for the left for about 60 years. Before it was “woke”, it was “politically correct”, and before it was politically correct it was “bleeding-heart”.
Conservatives love to recycle, at least when it comes to ideals.
It’s almost as though “woke” is being used as a euphemism for something that people can no longer say without getting pushback.
“Down here, Woke is a way of life.” “Obviously the environment down here is all woke. The ceiling is woke, the floor is woke, the walls are woke, and to an extent the air is woke. And you breathe that in, and you constantly taste the woke.”
