Meanwhile, the average American can barely afford rent or food nowadays.

To go to most countries, you’ll be spending tens of thousands just to get there. I don’t know where you’re getting your numbers from, but it’s not reality.
No you won’t. It’s much cheaper to travel than you are pretending.
My numbers are from experience and current ticket prices.
It’s under $300 right now to fly to most countries in South America or Europe, the Bahamas, under $500 to fly anywhere in Asia and this is the most expensive time of the year because of the lunar New Year, my ticket last month was 270 usd from new York to Hong Kong.

To move, to emigrate, is not the cost of a flight.
To fly somewhere is nothing. To move there requires an appropriate visa, residency applications and a lawyer for the process. You need to have a place to stay for those already accounted for, generally already need a job there to start those processes, you may need a sponsor in that country to help with the process if you don’t.
Traveling and moving are not the same thing.

Have done. Yes, that’s correct, no other nonsense. It’s why I encourage others unhappy with their financial lot in the states to do the same, because it’s so simple to change one’s life.
As a note, visas are not some unobtainable holy grail. You fill out a,few pages of an application, pay 30-60 bucks and you can stay in the country you choose for extended periods , often years rather than months.
It takes twenty minutes to fill out most visa applications, it’s not the complicated, herculean talk you’re making it out to be.
