This is an insane take. No, the military isn’t going to coup over this. If the generals were getting executed, perhaps, but they’re just being retired or shuffled off to other duties.

You don’t have to be a citizen to get a license in a lot of places. I actually don’t know of any that do but clearly I’m not fully informed.
It’s a lovely little town. You’d never know driving through. I even used to work there briefly, never saw a single hint of racism. They have a pretty good Thai restaurant.
Of course, I also never saw a single black person there. I briefly contemplated moving there and then just quietly voting against all their bullshit, but I don’t really want to be that close to folks like that. Certainly don’t want my kids around it.
Trump was almost certainly never going to prison. Now it is completely certain.
If a cop rolled up on you, could you prove right then and there you are a citizen? Unless you habitually carry your passport or birth certificate or immigration papers, almost certainly not.
Are you going to have any way to prove it while you are in a holding facility with no access to a lawyer or at best a public defender who has heard the same story 80 times today?
This certainly wouldn’t be the first time an American Citizen got deported.
I loved the analysis I read that said Trump is a great negotiator because he’s stupid enough to do the dumb thing that others would threaten but never do.
Sounds about right
Wheeeeee…
Look at all this fun I’m having.
I’m going to be bummed, but it’ll be deserved. Maybe future generations will stop being entitled assholes. Idk. Don’t want to live in a disintegrating country. Really don’t want my kids to. But I guess we don’t always get to pick.
Nothing I enjoy more than asking a good ol’ boy his pronouns.
I mean 30% tariffs across the board will be fucking devastating to our economy. I don’t know if that will hurt stock prices themselves, but as Americans become poorer, I’m not sure where they will make up the difference. Fire more people, I guess?
Yeah. I’m feeling so much contempt for my country right now, part of me feels like, had I known this about us, I’d have welcomed Trump long ago, because clearly we deserve this. Let’s just let everything get so bad they are forced to confront the wretched failure of the society they have wrought.
What’s going to happen is in a few years the balance of power will shift, saving them from the worst consequences of the failures of far right policy, and they will learn nothing.
Nope. Let’s not any more. Let them fucking have it. Let them fucking destroy everything just so, at the end, they can appreciate that the devastation and misery surrounding them is a monument to their own stupidity and failure.
I sort of understand Trumpists right now. I’m so angry that I’m willing to endure misery as long as I know it’s hurting them, too.
The uncertainty over what Trump might break with his buffoonery.
We’re gonna rediscover all kinds of wonderful words. Polio is a good one, too. Hey, with global warming, we ought to be able to brew up some malaria all across Trump country, right?
You know what, let’s just not have doctors. That will cut healthcare costs really fucking quick.
“A hand which, at this time, has no name.”
“I know his name…”
Heeeeeere we are, born to be kings
We’re the princes of the universe
So the main office, which I didn’t visit personally, but some from my team did, was treated almost reverently. It was business professional dress code, even for technical staff, which seems really out of touch these days. Ties and blazer and suit pants. I feel like I remember casual work days were maybe once per quarter or less? And they were still business casual.
I heard things like you never, ever walked on the grass. Ever. Company affirmations and cheerleading. Things like that. And they would browbeat employees. Massive social pressure to conform and to make the company part of your identity.
Cult might be a little strong, but definitely creepy vibes.
I worked for them for a year as a contractor. That’s one place I’m glad I don’t work any more. Weird as fuck. The people there were normal but the policies and things felt cultish to me.
There is a free spot on my bingo card the size of Texas. And Florida.
Actually, we should give up Bingo and start a new game called Headlines. It’ll be like Cards Against Humanity, except the black cards will all be “____ arrested for <offense such as child pornography or domestic violence>”.
The white cards will all just be various individuals or descriptors like “Hulk Hogan” and “Texas Megachurch youth leader”.
After everyone plays, you do a search for the headline and the most recent exact match wins.
I spent more time thinking about this than it’s worth, but I’m committed now.
Trumpets don’t value knowledge. They value commitment and loyalty and the ability to blame others.
