Russia is in a war economy and the USA is based on their military industry. An endless war of attrition is what the capitalist machine seeks.
The U.S. on one hand say they don’t want anybody to purchase oil from Russia (even though that doesn’t appear to have much effect), and on the other hand, they don’t want their oil refineries bombed.
This warning I wouldn’t mind getting ignored like when anyone asks Netenyahu to stop targeting innocents.
