Oh wow. It looks like Nintendo is doing so poorly. They should probably sell to another company.*
*things crazy people say
I feel like this is primarily wishful thinking by people who play exclusively on PC and want to have their cake and eat it, too. Namely, to play good Nintendo games at 4K 120FPS with mods.
If that’s the case, the problem is mainly that they don’t say what they really want, instead taking the denial route by trying to convince themselves and others that Nintendo is doomed for supposedly being out of touch with the consumer (who should all be like me).
I don’t like Nintendo’s model, particularly when it comes to artificial scarcity of their older titles, but I at least accept it works for them and own a Switch because there are compelling games for it.
It shows how bad the WiiU failed when its software numbers are lower than the hardware numbers for the Switch.
You mean the other way round? Wii U hardware being lower than Switch software
Switch:
- Hardware:139.36million units
- Software:1,200.10million units
Wii U:
- Hardware:13.56million units
- Software:103.60million units
I think he means this. Total WiiU software sale is less than total Switch sale. Edit: formatting fix.
Yep this is what I meant. There’s always going to be more software sales that hardware. So to see that WiiU didn’t even sell more software than Switch sold hardware, that’s pretty bad.
No, they said it right. Follow the link to article, WiiU only had 100million software sales.
Mario Kart 8 is fire. I love it
we don’t say sth “is fire” anymore.
I wonder since the switch is a hybrid console, shouldn’t it be compared to the total of the Wii + DS consoles
It’s still one console, no matter how many ways it can be used.
Yeah but since Nintendo only makes one line of consoles now, it would make sense to add both as a comparison.
Because we no longer have a low powered handheld line, so the userbase merged.
